Very Excited

I am extremely excited!! I am gonna be going to college next year for Vet Tech. I love the school that I am going to. They take in animals from the humane society and make them better. Right now the have 5 yorkie puppies for adoption. They are so cute!! But I know I won't be able to handle anymore pets. Sophie likes to hog the attention. Atleast she give the cutest kisses!!!

Staying up in MN for school? My son is heading out to Iowa State next year to finish up his Ag Ed degree. He is in an ag transfer program at the local community college so he can stay at home for 2 years and start at ISU almost debt free as a junior. He has lots of friends that are in the local vet tech program.

Good luck!!!!

Goodness me, you'll be able to give Go Corgi members all kinds of worthwhile advice. A vet assistant in NZ needs to be a partially qualified vet.

Don't have those expectations of many vet tech schools in the US. Many "vet techs" are no more than glorified floor moppers.

They actually help with surgerys. They give shot and all kinds of things. I am just gonna start as a vet tech and see if I like it. If I like it I will be going back to school for Veterinarian.

Congratulations! Great luck in school. My sister in law was a vet tech a few years ago it was life changing for her. She too assisted in surgeries and learned quite a bit about medicine too. She is now a registered nurse but I think sometimes she wishes she became a vet instead.

I worked for awhile as a vetrinary asst. and I helped with surgeries, gave shots, assisted in c-sections, did dentals, etc.

In the US vet techs or vetrinary assistants do what ever the vet they work for decides they can to. But they are NOT partially qualified vetrinarians.
