Corgi's seem to be silly dogs and I'm really looking forward to that. The FRAP reminds me of my cats. They'll be sitting there perfectly still then jump up and start chasing eachother around the house and across the furniture.

Frapping is not silly. It has a definite purpose. Think of releasing the air from a balloon. That is the kind of action a Corgi takes in his/her frapping - release of pent up energy or relief at the notion of expectancy.

Corgis aren't silly dogs, I kinda take offense to that description. Nor do I believe there is a definitive purpose such as releasing pent up energy or expressing relief at the notion of expectancy. The FRAP just is and corgis do it because they are. The roots of the FRAP I believe go back to the primordial fogs of Wales.

To me silly is a wonderful thing, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I think every dog can be silly at times and I think it's adorable. My aunts Corgi is sometimes silly.

I think describing how cats chase each other on a whim comes close to describing a frap. Just never thought about it. I could see a corgi running across furniture if it could get up there.

A lot of people have a misconception that a dog is silly. Some are. Some breeds have a tendancy to be off-centre. Some dogs are handicapped mentally just like humans. But in general, dogs do not do anything that is silly. Maybe a lot of humans think a dog's action is silly but they don't understand the purpose for the way the dog has acted or responded. Corgi's are not one of the generally 'silly' breeds of dogs.

When I say someone is silly, I dont mean the exact dictionary definition that means weak-minded or mentally off-center, but I'm talking about what people commonly describe as silly...meaning they do something so cute and funny that it just makes you laugh. Here is the definition from Urban Dictionary that I'm talking about:

Urban Dictionary: silly

It is the first definition on there. I'm sorry if I offended you, but I'm talking about them being "funny in a cute way."

I'm not getting involved in the silly-or-not debate, but back on the FRAP. Puppies of all most dog breeds FRAP. Almost all breeds outgrow it in adulthood. One of the endearing traits in our Corgi breed is that they are one of the few breeds that never get to old for a good FRAP session!

And yes, with 3 cats in the house plus Charlie, I can say that cats never outgrow the FRAP either. My household is full of happy frappers.

When I whine like a dog Waerny cocks her head to the side and stares at me for a few seconds, then starts whining and licking my face. If I'm not in her line of sight when I do this, she'll come running to me to see what's wrong.

That's not quirky - that's looking after you with much concern.

I just posted it because it's something cute that she does and I wanted to share it with everyone. I think that it's "cute in a funny way" that she does this and that she shows so much concern for me already.
