Corgi Quirks
Hey guys. My Corgi is coming home soon, but I have never owned a Corgi before. I have heard from other people that their Corgi's have cute little quirks. Someone told me that their Corgi's food is in the kitchen, but evertime she eats she grabs a mouthfull of food, runs into the living room, then throws it up in the air and eats it off the carpet. Anyone here have cute little Corgi Quirks they'd like to share?

It's the Corgi FRAP (frantic random acts of playfulness) that cracks me up everytime. Charlie will be playing somewhat calmly, then suddenly can't contain his excitement. The "frantic" burst of energy sends him zooming around the yard in semi-circles and figure eights several times at very high speed. LOL

Whenever I put Chip & Dale's collars and leashes on the dining room table, Dale will try to reach them and cry when he can't. It is the only time that he whines. Too funny. Then when we are going out the door, collars and leashes on both of them, Dale will pick Chip's leash up in his mouth and escort his big brother to the car. Too funny.

Duncan and his kong. When he wants peanut butter in it, he brings it to you and drops it in front of you. If you ignore him, he'll keep dropping it until you either take it away from him or tell him to take it to the kitchen. Also, if you tell him no, he'll take it to the other "parent" and do the same thing, hoping the other one will get the peanut butter for him:

When Mc-Kenzie gets up in the morning the first thing that she does is dive head first into the carpet and then rubs her face on the carpet. DJ on the other hand will all of the sudden throw himself onto his back, then pause for a moment, then do his back wiggle followed by the almighty butt chase.
One day maybe he will realize that he has no tail.

Taylor's most interesting aspect to his personality is which dogs he chooses to play full-out with. There are very few among the hundreds and hundreds of dogs he's met that causes him to get into a play frenzy and it has been reciprocated - probably less than 10. But he didb't have a lot of interaction with other dogs until he was two.

Very interesting...maybe something about their personality makes Taylor want to open up and play with them...like shy people who meet someone who it's just impossible to be shy around. |

That is SO cute! Taking it to the other parent to see if they'll say yes to him, just like a little kid trying to get permission from one parent when the other has already said no. |

How funny, that must be a sight, haha. Seeing one of your dogs walk your other dog...too cute! If you get any pictures of this you should post them, I'd like to see that.

That sort of reminds me of a lab-cross I used to have. When I was training her how to sit, I would give her a treat for doing it correctly and then tell her what a good girl she was and give her lots of pets and scratches....She started rolling over to get her belly rubbed after I was done petting the rest of her, but eventually I would give the command, she would do it, take her treat, then immediately roll over onto her back for belly rubs. After that, when people would come to pet her she would always roll over for belly rubs (if she liked the person). |
