Talking while we were away... - 01-16-2008, 01:00 PM

First of all, I would like to say that I never knew how much I checked GoCorgi until it didn't work! LOADS of things have happened while the site was down and I guess I'll just do bullet points so everyone can reply to whichever one they would like!

-We recently switched foods with Westin (over a period of three weeks) from Canidae to Wellness (the purple bag). Starting around last Friday Westin started to have diarrhea (not like water, more like pudding) and itchiness in his feet and legs. ((I should have prefaced the fact that on WEDNESDAY he pooped out a screw.... we don't know where he got it, when he ate it or HOW he ate it... but he did.)) So when the diarrhea started (we hadn't noticed the itchiness yet) we didn't know what it was from: if it was because of the screw or because of his food. After a couple calls and talks with our vet, we decided it was MOST LIKELY his food, so today I went and bought a bag of the Canidae and are switching him back over (just not as slowly!)

-Westin graduated puppy class! =D
I'll post pictures of him in his hat with his certificate!

-We started going to the Corgi Meet-up at Marymoor Park in Kirkland with Vanette. Although we let him of the leash for most of the time.. he tends to attach himself to other groups of dogs and run off in the wrong direction. We are going to try again on the 3rd.... but I think it will just take practice.
((but the meet-up was loads of fun!))

-Westin is losing teeth! He's lost three so far, however, he lost two of his back teeth and then one of his front sharp ones? and I had heard that those were supposed to be the last to go! I don't know if these teeth are supposed to come out easily, but he is bleeding all over everything when they come out (if you look at his BRAND NEW tennis ball... it looks like we beat him with it!).

..... I think that might be all! haha. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to let you all know! I hope everyone else's "break" was a little less eventful than ours!

Yeah!!! Congratulations on the graduation! He looks so cute in his cap & gown.

Funny coincidence on the food switching. Last Wednesday, I started switching Charlie from puppy food to Canidae. Stupid me though. I spent hours researching food ingredients and wanted to try Canidae All Life Stages. What I bought after all my hours of hard work was Canidae All Life Stages Lamb and Rice. They have three different formulas and all the bags look too much alike! The formula I wanted had quite a bit more protein. Oh well, I bought the 5 lb bag (just in case we got diarrhea!) so I'll get the right bag next week.

Charlie forgets who I am at the dog park for at least the first 30 minutes. I only attend meetings at parks that are fenced in, because I'm afraid of him running off. When he can come when called everytime, we can attend other parks. He got lots of treats this weekend when I was ready to leave, I called him one time, and HE CAME! Yippee!

Quite a few times while Charlie was teething, I thought he had bitten a hole through his tongue because of all the blood on his soccer ball. It wasn't his tongue at all...those puppy teeth just bleed A LOT!

Westin LOVES his Canidae...
he's already eating a lot more than he was of the other kind.
(what you want is the tannish colored bag! not the orange, gray or yellow ones! lol. we go by color, not by labels.)

I have to report on Westin too....OMG he is the most darling! He does run off. He just fits right in with any dog there. It was quite comical. Wet day and I don't think he missed a puddle and remember, Kelsey was concerned about him staying clean for graduation. He's a fluffy and the pictures posted don't show how cute he is. He had a blast!! He will get better I'm sure as he gets older. LOL I wish I would have remembered my camera. We had a really good turn out.
I checked gocorgi at least daily in hopes of it being there. Withdrawal was hard.
