foot size
This may seem like a really stupid question, but everyone I meet comments on the foot size of Dudley, how big they are, and how big of a dog he must be going to be. I know that Cardis are a big dog in a small body and was just wondering if puppy foot size is any indication of how big he will be as an adult.
Thanks for having patience with me and this potentially silly question. P.S. Dudley's left ear is starting to come and it is so cute. It kind of flops out to the side of his head

My Cody's feet were big also when we got him at 11 weeks. They looked
like mitts. We always commented at first how much he reminded us of a bear cub. His feet have "slimmed down" - as the legs grow "a bit longer", their feet will change. linda |

They do grow into their feet and their ears - usually. Chip we'll have to wait and see about.
(just teasing) True, corgis are big dogs in small packages - they are true dwarf breeds. So what you have is a medium size dog on short legs and the feet reflect a medium size dog. Foot size and bone can be indicators of adult substance - which means they may always have heavy bone, but not always. Just tell any questioners, that he needs the big feet to keep him grounded in high winds - cause when the ears come up the comments will turn that way. And yes, you do set him on top of the TV and he can pick up 300 channels. <VBG> Debbie |

Big feet, smallish feet - it's all the same to Corgis. But I believe big feet have advantages. Our last Pembroke's alternative name was "Paddles" because of his large size feet. They were like canoe oars and they came to very good use whenever he went swimming. He was a very strong swimmer and could master a fairly fast moving, wide river from one side to the other and back again. His big feet and close-in toes and four look-alike white socks made him a favourite to win any Corgi 'best feet' competitions that were held at Corgi specialist shows.

The television antenna cracked me up
Thanks for all the comments guys. It doesn't really matter to me if Dudley has snow shoes for feet; it just makes him all the more adorable Especially when I hear him thudding through the house after me (He's not the most graceful creature in the world).

I can also hear Chip coming a mile away - sounds like an elephant. That is true about the paddles for feet as Chip has fell into our pond twice and he can swim really good although we fish him right out. Hopefully he has learned his lesson as it has been awhile since he has been in the pond.
