Acutally you're not on topic in the least. This wasn't about Kennel Names at all, it was about suggestions on names that sounded cute with "Knight" and "Lady

Kennel name's Lady Waeryn, it's that simple.

She's not the Kennel's Waeryn, she's MY Waeryn now. I asked my breeder how she felt about kennel names being used and she thinks it takes away from the excitement of being able to come up with a name of your own. She only uses her kennel name for dogs that she plans on keeping forever. I have talked to other people and they don't agree with you either.

And thank you very much Stephen, for telling people to stay on topic. It seems like hardly of the posts are ever on topic.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, that thank's to Vannette's suggestion I am going with "The Lovely Lady Waeryn" for her registered name.

The title of the thread is "Names." Kennel names are a part of the names and the naming process. I am on topic.

Just because the registered would be XXXX's Lady Whatever, in no way means, implies or indicates that she is not *your* dog. As Cindy mentioned, there's nothing unique about Lady So and So and a second dog being Sir or Lord XYZ as a named "pair." AKC registrations are full of them with and without kennel prefixes.

With your decision you've told some of us a lot about yourself and in a smaller way Waeryn's breeder.

I usually have a waiting list for puppies and the owners are made aware of the theme I plan to use ahead of time, actually I love to get input from them on theme name suggestions. Sometimes the theme comes from an event at the time the litter is bred or whelped or like the last one, how could you not have an alcohol theme when the sire is Royal Crown and the dam is Margartiaville? Next litter is a beach theme.

Call names--many times I will ask what the perspective owner would like me to call their puppy and start using that name when working with the puppy.

Let's explore this statement: "Just because the registered would be XXXX's Lady Whatever, in no way means, implies or indicates that she is not *your* dog." shall we? From a purely proper grammatical standpoint XXXX's with the possessive "'s" implies ownership, so your statement means that you do think that it implies ownership, meaning you just wrote an oxymoron. And the * around "your" implies that you also feel that it is not actually our dog as the * implies a doubtful matter or on certain occasions, emphasis, often resulting in sarcasm. Nevertheless, she is our dog, and I will name her what I please, so while I respect your opinion, I will do as I please as I'm sure you will as well. Oh, and by the way, simply because the breeder agrees with me does in no way reflect on her treatment and caring of the dogs. Also, it's the names themselves that are meant to be unique, not the title of "sir" or "lady", so if you'd kindly pay more attention in the future I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, just because "Names" is the title of the thread, does not mean it's the topic of the thread. The topic of a person's thread is the questions they're asking or the help they're seekeing. I can't quite grasp why you think it's humorous to start fights over the internet.

If anyone would like to stay on topic, that would be greatly appreciated and I would love to hear from you.

That's a cute name! I really like it. Waeryn is pronounced "Way-rin" and "Mare-When" would sound cute with it.

I'll chime in here.

If you can spend some time surfing for AKC registered names, the Sir and Lady in combination with the Welsh names are extremely common-in many breeds, not just corgis. If the name you have chosen is too close to one already in the data base, then AKC will reject it and ask you to come up with another. Also AKC prefers not to have "The" as the first part of a name, not that they won't allow it but having talked to people in that dept. they highly discourage it. Let's see, they are allowing longer then 27 letters and spaces in the names-that was in one of the latest news articles that was passed to me.

Actually I think it's reallly fun to create a name that makes you think. A golden breeder I know had the "pass" litter. All the puppies had to have "pass" somewhere in their name. One pup is called I'm Gonna Woo Pass--call name Fannie--now take the letters in the same order and create some other words--I'm Gonna Woop ..... get it?

As far as the kennel name, not including it the breeder's kennel in the name, well, don't you feel some sense of pride in where you got your dog from and wouldn't you want to let people know right off the bat where she came from? Yes she is yours, no doubt about that, but not acknowledging the person who let her come into this world.....I think that's what Debbie was trying to say.

Smile *~* Oh my...~~gasp~~....;-/ sigh...

*~* Friendly forums.....are they a thing of the PAST ?

Midnight & Sunshine are names that I chose because I lost my kitty named,
Sunshine when we were in a family roll~over car accident. Midnight was chosen because she is a Tri~color Corgi and I wanted cute kinda similiar or contrast names.

I am HAPPY with the names that my children and I chose together...and so are Midnight & Sunshine.

I think that when we post ANY thread topics on here...we are EXPECTING to be respected and have a friendly forum discussion. I hope that all posters here receive respect for any comment, question or OPINION they may
post !

MYSELF............INCLUDED !

I think Midnight and Sunshine are adorable names, especially put together. Sunshine is a bright sunny color and Midnight is a sleek, dark color, it works perfectly.

I just Google searched "Welsh names" and come up with this site:
Behind the Name: Welsh Names

There are lots of cute choices...
I'm sure you'll have fun trying to pronounce most of them!

I've seen that site too and some of the names sound like they would be really cute, but I have no idea if I'm saying them right. Some I don't even know how to begin trying to say, haha.

Thank you. I was just going to go with "Lady Waeryn" but after that was suggested to me, I loved it!
