Your favorite corgi quirk? -

I was wondering what quirk (habit, etc.) does your corgi(s) have that you find charming or downright funny?
Will enjoys playing with a large toy shaped like a donut and one of the things that he does is brings it to my daughter and attempts to put it over her foot. If he manages to get it on her foot, then he wants to take it off, of course my daughter will take off on a run with him wanting the ring back.
What's your corgi like to do?
John

When any one of us is sitting eating. Duchess will put her chin on the toe of our shoe and stare up at us. It is so cute, and this only came on in the last six months or so.
Duchess does not like things that move or wobble. She pushes against plastic trash cans and noses the lids of other containers, then sometimes barks at them. The same thing with empty boxes. Bubble wrap is another of her dislikes, she is very agitated when I pop one. I love to pop them, but avoid it for her comfort.

When we get something to drink in the kitchen and Ein hears the ice maker, she comes running, sits down next to us and waits for her ice cube. When she gets one she is running on to the living room carpet and there she eats her ice cube.
A few weeks ago she learned giving paw and she does it now all the time when she wants something. She sits there and has her paw in the air and is just waving with it. It looks so cute.

When Sophie is in the Kitchen eating I have to gate her up so she'll actually eat my favorite thing is when I go to check on her and she comes to the gate with that corgi grin on her face and is trying to jump the gate just to get to me.

Charlie and I play "Take it" and "Give" a few times a day. He'll take a toy from me with "Take it" and I'm trying to get him to put the toy in my hand when I say "Give". He has figured out that he gets a treat for letting go of the toy, although he normally drops it on the floor or just noses it onto the floor instead of putting the toy my hand.
At least once a day, I'll be busy working and hear "clunk", "clunk", "clunk". When I turn around, Charlie is standing up in the chair, bright eyes gleaming, grinning proudly at me as he has pushed all his toys out of the chair onto the floor. "Look Mom! I did Give with all my toys! Where's my treat?"

*~* Frapping (Chase)... -
01-22-2008, 02:36 PM
*~* Midnight & Sunshine love to chase eachother (Frapping) all around the house.
Midnight is a, "talker" and sounds like this: "Ba~Wooo.....Ba~Wooo".
Midnight is so expressve.
So, I guess I have 2 favorite endearing Corgi traits.
( I like this thread topic....good choice ! )
*~* Nikki
" A Pembroke Corgi" : "When we are born...our ears are down...our tails are docked & we wear no frown. As we mature...the ears come up...our personality develops...no more a pup. When we chew our bone...the legs come out...and the "Flying Squirrel" lies alone. A corgi is a wonderful breed...much LOVE from owner to Canine...is received."

I LOVE how they grow in character. After a certain stage or point, some of them just gain in that attribute.

That's cute - making sure those wobblies stay in line!

Taylor only plays with a toy once a day. generally before dinner. He goes into a frap and on his frapping way, picks up one of his several toys handily left lying around, and makes a dash for it, hoping that someone will lay chase.

Whenever Ruby gets excited, either we come home from being out or give her some extra attention, the first thing she does is run for a toy for us to play fetch with. The funny part is she grabs the toy and then turns her back on us so we have to start play on her terms. Any kind of extra attention and she runs for the toy to play fetch.

In the morning, George and Beppo wait for the alarm clock to go off. When it goes off, they run over to it and stare at it, if I hit the snooze button, George will hop on to my chest and sit while Beppo lays across my face...They will not move till I get up....
One morning after I left for work, my roommates alarm went off and Beppo ran over and stared at it, when he realized I wasn't there, he started to howl. George ran over to the clock and started to howl as well. They finally went out after they searched the house for me and realized i wasn't there. They didn't leave my side the rest of that night....my roommate never forgot about his alarm clock again either.
