If feeling for ribs and looking for a visible waistline is taxing then a $10 bathroom scale and a commitment to weigh your dog at least once a week can make weight maintenance much easier.

I popped into a vet clinic last week and weighted Taylor - he was dead on 12kg which in USA terms is 27 lbs and bang on where I want him to be. But I make a point of scrutinising him for weight control and food intake.
The other factor with food is that if your Corgi is not getting the exercise he/she should be, then cut back on the recommended feeding amounts - eg 1.5 cups becomes 3/4 of a cup - 1 cup. |
