What do your pups eat? -

I have tried many different dog foods tryign to find one that both my pups like. Megan likes everything so we have never had a trouble buying dog food for her, right now she is on purina senior. My puppies on the other hand arent so easy. We have tried Purina Puppy Chow, Iams, The Good Life (which they are on now). Neither of them liked Purina Puppy Chow as a matter of fact they HATED it, would even try to eat it until they were starving. Iams they would eat but you know those kind of food were you will eat it but you dont really like it? well that is what they were like. Now they are on The Good Life, Trevor loves it but abby wont eat it. Today she didnt eat breakfeast or lunch she wouldnt eat dinner until i put wet puppy food in it. So i guess i was woundering what you fed you puppy and he liked?

Westin has been eating Canidae all-stages formula since we got him at 8 weeks and loves it. we tried to switch him to Wellness once, but he turned out to be allergic to it. I know some other people on the site have had picky eaters and had luck with Canidae also.

My dogs both have been on Canidae with great results, for the past two years.

Changing foods often can create a picky eater and she held out on dinner until she got the canned. Often it is the human doing the feeding which creates the finicky eater. Put her food down, give her 15 minutes to eat and if she doesn't, then take it away. She gets nothing until the next meal. When she figures out nothing better is coming, she'll eat.

well yes, what i do is put bot pups food down and trevor will eat his and i leave Abbys down for about 2 minutes after he is done, if she shows no interest in it i will pick it up, if she does show interest in it i wil leave it for another 2 minutes, if she doesnt eat i pick it up, if she starts to eat it i will let her finnish. I will try cannidae, if i can find it, it isnt at my nearest petsmart, so i will look around

I have a couple of questions about canidae, First how much do you pay for it, i found a 5lb bag for 8$, a 20lb for 25.60$, and a 40lb for 38$. Also second question, what kind do you feed them, i found, Canidae All Life Stages Chicken & Rice Formula and Canidae All Life Stages Original Formula, and Canidae Maintenance Formula for All Life Stages Dry Dog Food what do you think is better?

Sry for all these posts but i was reaserching Canidae and found this website, Canidae All Life Stages - Reviews on RateItAll , not many of these sound good, i have heard of a lot of people feeding there dog this brand and it sounds like it is a good dog food with good ingrediants but not many of the dogs are good with it.

You are setting a lot of her behavior up and she's already learned she can play you. Give her some structure and consistency. Begin feeding her in her crate, do the 15 minutes and then take the food. Next meal same thing - in the crate, 15 minutes to eat and then take the food. If you want her on dry kibble only, then don't give the canned/wet. If you want to add it to one meal, then do that. She needs to learn you are in charge and set the rules, not her.

Prices sound right for that food and most quality premium foods.

Either of the All Life Stages formulas would be fine, I wouldn't put them on the Maintenance formula now.
