Appropriate travel crate size? - 06-02-2006, 09:19 AM

We need to purchase a travel crate for Ace, our 17 week old Cardi. We have a 36" crate with a divider for home. The small plastic crate that he arrived in is getting too small. We would like to have a crate that he can travel comfortably in and that would be big enough for him to sleep in even when he is fully grown. With the long and short nature of corgis, we are just not sure what size to go with. So we thought this would be a good question to toss out here in the forums to see what size travel crates everyone recommends.

Thanks,

Jim and Bethany

Gosh I dont know what size mine is will have hubby measure it, but it fits well in the back of of our suv, which is where we intended for Darci to ride last yr on vacation. Darci on the other hand had a different idea, she rode in my lap.
We got our smaller crate at tractor supply, black metal and can be quickly folded flat if needed.

That is exactly what we did too and Chip had different ideas. He likes to ride in my lap.

We are still having a difficult time deciding on an appropriate traveling crate for Ace. We aren't sure how long he is going to get so we don't want one he can't lay down in comfortably. However, the long ones are also very tall and he looks like he's in a cave when try him in them! It's too bad they don't make crates just for corgis....long and short! So should we go with a shorter crate that's not that tall or just get the BIG one? We use it anytime Ace gets in the car to go somewhere, so like about 2 to 4 times a week. Thanks for the help!
