Have you ever seen a tailless Corgi wag it tail!

I have to share and I don't think any of my friend (none of which have a Corgi) would understand...

I have a almost 5 yr old Tri color PWC.. Today one of my daughter brought in one of the little pygmy goats to get her feet trimmed.. ( she is only about 21 lbs ) weights less then my corgis, I was talking to the goat- calling her a fluffy and talking goofy when Emmye the corgi came up to me to get some attention too...

so I told Emmye you have a fluffy butt-

and my daughter says say it again because look she is wagging her tail and low and behold were a tail should be was twitching....

Now mind you this Corgi has NO TAIL- there is a line where her tail should be they got very close when they did her tail

but she was wagging her tail- even thought she does not have one!

Got to Love Corgi's

I have Cardis who do have tails to wag but I have seen Pems "wag" nubs, stubs, and fluffy butts. Always brings a smile! =)

Never seen that! Thank goodness they have those incredibly expressive ears.

Both my pem boys waggle... Both have no tails, one does an entire rear end shaking waggle and the other does the wiggling nub which is really not much of a nub but more where the tail would be if there was s tail... and you can see his waggling... I think it is adorable... and yes, sofapup, the ears are definatley as expressive as any tail... or at least my two's are!

Both Byron and Fergie do when they get excited. It seems to depends on how closely docked they were to be noticable

I'm sure if they had a tail it would be going all the time

Jinjo has a nub about the size of the last joint of one of my fingers. When he "smells a critter" he swishes it back and forth like a cocker's nub. Its so tiny, but it has a LOT of expression to it. I find it funny, he's only ever about 2-3 times in his life ever been so exited about something he shook his entire butt.

Our pems have always done that. I always say "look, he's wagging the tail he doesn't have!" They wag their tailless rears at the same times dogs with tails wear theirs.

Ein just barely has a tail...probably fits in the nub category. He usually just wags his butt, but he's been getting more expressive with his "nub" and we've seen it wag more recently. I think this is because our little girl Suki has a bit more of a tail and you can see it wag very easily. Though when she gets excited her whole rear end moves. It's so darn cute!

Shippo goes from just wagging the tuft of fur where his tail would be to wagging his whole butt! XD

colby, our male fluff, does it too....we call it the "wiggle bum" cuz the whole thing gets going...and he gets very excited if you notice hes doing it and say something, like "i see your wiggle bum, or are you a wiggle bumm doggie???" then he even starts to whine at the same time and its sooooo cute!!!

There are any number of threads on GoCorgi in which this topic is discussed. An archive search will provide you with a little history.
