If someone posts an ad for puppies for sale on this site, then why shouldn't we be able to ask the most basic questions openly that one would ask any breeder regarding their pups. This is educational for everyone who is new here and not yet a Corgi owner, but may be thinking of getting one.

These are questions that a breeder should be expected to answer for potential buyers. Afterall, if one is contemplating buying a Corgi, this is a lifetime commitment, and we want to start out on the right track with knowing that these pups comes from healthy parents therefore bettering its own chances for a healthy life.

If we want more new members to participate then we must encourage openly asking questions.

I have been reading this thread and taking notes as it is a good learning experience. When I bought Chip, I didn't know to ask all of these questions and my daughter is thinking about buying a corgi. It is good for everyone to know all the questions to ask. It may save someone heartaches later. We have already seen a few on Go Corgi. I am eagerly awaiting the answers. Thanks for asking your questions openly. Tsh Tsh Michael - Your comment to Barbara wasn't appropriate about private emails.

I think it's good to post the info that Barbara was requesting - not only for one and all to learn about pups generally and what we need to be looking for when purchasing one, but to let everyone - who is interested, know about that specific breeder and their level of professionalism.
I think of the different threads like TV channels, if you aren't interested in the subject, don't click on them.

*~* You have alot of intellegent things to say...sometimes.

HOWEVER..sometimes you say things that make me think,
"Why would he post that" ??

I think that you really DO NOT know that you offend a few people...at times with your choices of words.

Please, will you try and be a little bit more choosing of your words ?

Please ???

For me...do it for me ??

{ This post in particular is not one that I would say is offensive....but, there have been a few where I have thought, "Michael is opinionated & judgemental". You don't want people to think that you are that way....DO YOU ?? )

I have to agree that these questions should be asked in the open forum. I, for one, am interested in the answers. Also, as has been stated by other members, prospective buyers may not even know that they SHOULD be asking these questions. So it is good for them to see what experienced corgi-folk would ask of a breeder. It may help them make more informed choices about their future pups.

Michael,

When is Taylors Breeder going to have a batch again? I think it would be great if you would encourage her to advertise her pups for sale on this site. I think there are many people out there that would love a relative of Taylors including a recent person I just met that is also interested in trying to breed Corgis for the first time.

Linda

I'm curious as to why you are suggesting these conversations be kept private.

I agree these are questions that should be asked in open forum.....
As stated above, we can all gain by seeing the Q & A's.

A moderators job is to be above all a diplomat, not a tiff starter.

Linda - Good you asked about an impending litter. Shelley Bondy in Canada has Taylor's litter sister, Gypsy and Shelley is going to breed again from Gypsy when she is next in season and mated with another NZ-bred Corgi. So if anyone is interested in Pems with NZ parentage, they should contact Raglan Kennels (near the border with the USA).

Refer to my thread: Taylor's sister

I thought that on this public forum that one is able to and encouraged to ask question, however, one is not obligated to answer.

This is probably all irrelevant, anyway . . . we seem to have scared poor Alberta away with our bickering!

COME BACK ALBERTA! We want to hear more about your puppies . . . and we promise to play nice!

What started out in this thread as NORMAL questions one would want to ask a breeder if they were contemplating buying her pups, ended up turning into something that should not have been.
