(except for Jackie's birthday trip . . . but that wasn't really a vacation . . . just a weekend jaunt)

Hehe... well, my step-daughter always comes here for the summer (she's almost 12!). I think the funnest thing we did was go to a gigantic dinosaur museum that we just found (we always go to the smaller one close to us, but this one was SO much better!). Aside from that, having a newborn in the house limited our summer activities a lot, especially when the temperatures spiked over 100 for those last three weeks. Oh... and we found the state park with the lake so we could go play in the water there. Checkers especially loved that!

Chip went to NC, Georgia, Florida and Charleston and got his first view of the ocean. He also went on many boat rides on Watauga lake in his Uncle Jim's and Aunt Marilyn's new pontoon. He was officially named the mascot. Went to flea markets, got neutered, and joined obedience class, took rides for ice cream - what a summer. Hoping to ride the ferries from Virginia Beach to Moorehead City in October.

What is a summer vacation???
 Seriously, we didn't get Trevor until mid-summer, so next year, perhaps. We are going to visit Grandma and Grandpa in AZ at Christmas. Will that count???  -Debi |
