I have the "Dyson Animal" and I think DCole has a Dyson also

I love my Dyson and would highly recommend it - you will be amazed at what this thing picks up - it is around the $500 price range, but worth it for me with 3 cats and a dog.

Another Dyson owner and reccomender here. I LOVE my Dyson. Both my dogs shed a lot... and then I have an almost 6 month old baby crawling (almost) on the carpet for quite a bit of time every day so I really want to make sure the hair is up. The Dyson does that for me. I would buy another in a heartbeat!

My daughter has a dyson with a corgi mix and a chow and she loves hers. I have a kirby and I love that also.

Question for you cat owners with a Dyson - I find that my good quality canister vacuum collects dust (stinky!) from the kitty litter and then the next time I vacuum it shoots out in the exhaust and stinks up the place - does the Dyson shoot out hot air that would disperse odours trapped in it?

No, my Dyson does not do this...it is a bagless vacuum also

You should go to their web site and check out their warranties and if they offer where you can try one out and return it if you don't like it - but I think
you will love it.

There are quite a bit of different Dyson Models, but I have the animal one. I think there are a couple of even more expensive ones.

I have never heard of the Rainbow that T-Gal mentioned.

We have the I-Robot Roomba. This thing is awesome, and it actually does a FANTASTIC job picking up hair. Just turn it on and let it do the work.

I have an oreck, I have been really pleased. Its very light and easy for me to carry up stairs.
The only draw back is no furniture attachment on the vac you have to use a seperate canister system.

Oreck works great a picking up all the hair, we have 2 dogs and 2 cats.....

I have been looking into getting a Dyson but after reading a review of one I wondered it I should wait until they straightened out the problems of the attachments being fragile and hard to connect. The review did state that it was a good machine at picking up hair and even though there were probs with the attachments it was worth the price.

I will mention that I have not had any problems with my(Dyson) attachments, so I am not sure if they were talking about all the models or just one specifically. And I don't understand the fragile part. I have not heard anything in regards to this.

Mine also came with special attachments for cleaning my vehicle.

Did you read this in a consumer reports magazine?

corgimom,

No I read that review online. I don't know who put it out. They were referring to a Dyson "Animal." I am pretty sure I will buy one soon.
