Smile What's your corgis favorite thing?

Ok, thought it would be fun to hear about your corgis. My Harley loves to go riding in the truck and go to the barn. She just loves being with the horses. She could also play fetch all day long. What about you?

LOL, Harley does the same thing when I'm eating. I usually give her a small bit of what I’m eating if she sits by me and is good. And she usually is, she doesn’t ever miss out on food.

My Neighbour is getting a donkey. Don't laugh. I know it's a poor man's horse. But I'm sure Taylor will be very interested in it. When he first came across a horse he ran to safety right behind my legs but he's been a lot braver ever since and just trots past them on the odd occasion he has met up with one. Recently he came in contact with a goat with big dangerous horns and boy, did he want to play with it. He darted about and his yappity yelling was different to what I've ever heard from him before. Usually around animals he's quiet and lets them alone. My niece has horses. I must take Tyalor up to see her.

Taylor enjoys been whisked around in a wheel chair at hospitals to meet residents/patients, loves car rides and taking in the passing scenery, loves running off lead in big parks and bush tracks, finds tracking for his dinner portions very satisfying.

Ruby, my Cardigan, will always play tug of war. I just give her my imitation of the dog play bow and she runs to the toy we will play with. Her next favorite thing is, and get ready for this, she loves the heartworm rectangular chunk that I give her every month. She will roll over and give me her paw without asking when I have the heartworm chunk in my hand. And if I don't give it to her immediately, she rolls over again and gives me her paw. Hilarious.

My Maximus loves to play fetch, he will play it when ever he gets a chance. He also loves to play chase and bear attack (see my post in other breeds for an explaination) with Madjai the American Bulldog that we have at home. They play chase and bear attack at least twice a day. He loves to be outside and chase the squirrels that live in the woods behind our house. He also visits the neighbor's Shih-poo (Shih Tzu/Poodle mix), they chase each other through the woods. I think that thing that Max loves the most is water, he will wear himself to exhaustion playing with the water that comes out of the hose, he will also go after the water spout before the water comes out the end of the hose. This is sometimes frustrating when you are trying to wash the car or water the plants. There are a few things that he does not like, he really does not like the vacuum cleaner, he will bark and attack it as soon as you get it our of the closet. He also has a problem with lawn mowers. He does not like my husband's electric razor, but is getting better at not barking at it, but my husband as to play fetch with Max while he is shaving. This as become an ritual every morning when my husband gets up. We love all the things that Max does, we find him very entertaining.

Hey Cardguy, what is a heartworm chunk? Aren't Corgis fun with their out-of-the-ordinary antics.
Taylor doesn't fetch much to my consternation. He's one of those dogs who thinks the fetch play is for him to gather in the object and run away with it while the human chases after him. But he loves playing Corgi Tennis. He will roll a tennis ball back to me after expertly stopping my soccer kick (or fast hand roll) of it to him. He either uses his feet or his face. He also considers himself clever to catch the tennis ball while sitting at the top of the stairs while I throw it to him from the bottom. And he will roll it back to me after a few scrunching moments for repeats. On ground level his object catching is not always very skilled but he sometimes catches successfuuly with his little front hands/feet. All my previous Corgis were somewhat different.

My Corgi Ein's favorite thing has to be this pig toy that's a puppet. She goes crazy when you put it on your hand. She been crazy about the thing since she was a puppy. Butters, my other corgi, doesn't really like toys or bones, her favorite thing has to be me. She follows me everywhere and has to sit on my lap. She is a bit more lazy but definately a lover.

Corgis just love to wrestle. And they love someone - particularly a little person, at floor level with them. But if you older people have never got down and dirty with your Corgi - you and them are missing an awful lot.
Taylor wrestles with me every other day and also with my now, nine year old son. It's great fun for all of us and Corgis love the rough and tumble of it - yet we and them know just how far to go and how not to hurt each other.
Taylor has never been the one to stop this game first.

Your right Michael - wrestling is Emma's favorite thing to do. The only time she stops first is when the cat "tells" her to! Soon as my hubby walks in the door she grabbs a toy and meets him so he can admire it - then they have their tug-of-war. After she's satisfied THEN he can greet me and relax LOL. I wrestle with her some but she prefers Leah - they both last much longer than I do and play harder together! I think they both take it easy on me ;-)

Chuck loves his slimy old 'Deputy Dog' squeak toy (which he's had since the day I got him!), almost every food known to man, and practicing his herding technique on Buddy, our Golden Retriever! The dogs both also LOVE to take long "creek walks" along Cherry Creek with my husband, and Chuck loves to make sure all the other dogs in the neighborhood understand that he's the Corgi in Charge!!!

favorite things

Corey just adores his many "slobber balls" as we call them. They are beanbag balls that will make noise if it hits the ground, until of course there is so much slobber on them that they no longer speak. First one I found was at the Salvation Army, just picking through the stuffies, and really not expecting to give it to him....but he claimed it as his , so of course, that was the beginning of his obsession, and it is an obsession.....nothing more disgusting than stepping on this wet and slimy slobberball if one has to get up at night to use the facilities....he always has it in a place where we will get the full effect....

Now Empress Woo, on the other hand, has a favorite....which is FOOOOOOOD!Go figure....and as her corgimum, it is so hard to look into those big, sad eyes and not give her something....i am learning to be tough though.....but I give in at times....I know it is not good for her though, and want to keep her on this earth for a long time. She has a favorite stuffy(a little black beanie kittie)and claimed my big fleecy quilt as her bed,and she is lost and restless when her "things" need to be washed or aired out.

That's our story.....home soon to play slobberball..

Blessings from mncorgimum(shannon) and her charges, corey and empress woo
