http://www.rawmeatybones.com/book-ww.html Fido here are a couple of links that may help to educate yourself on bones. I have never given my dogs any, but I have been considering it, they are much better for the dogs than say rawhide, nylabones, greenies etc. You may click on dog.com and click on the forum, type in under search raw meaty bones and there are a lot of people who give bones, and can steer you in the right direction. Good Luck.

OK, now I have to get on my soapbox about raw meaty bones (also known as the BARF diet - Bones and Raw Food, or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). I cannot sing enough praises for this diet!. Oliver had truly serious allergies, which also included a compromised immune system. Besides the itching, chewing, hives etc, the sides of his mouth were constant open sores. I went the whole route - steroids with his regular vet, testing and shots (and a complete outdoor "suit" to wear) with his dermatological vet, homeopathic meds and acupuncture with the holistic vet. NOTHING made any difference. I had heard of the BARF diet and began researching it. I switched both Oliver and Skippy over on Nov. 30, 2005. Within one month Oliver's mouth sores healed and have stayed healed. His allergies are so minimal they're not even an issue. His coat had begun to get stiff and it's now soft and shiny, as is Skippy's - and their teeth are beautiful! They have no odor (body or mouth), they are all around much healthier. But one of the best things is their poop!!! After a couple of days it will turn white and chalky (no odor) and just disintegrate - it is a diet that I recommend researching though, so you are sure your dog (or cat) will get the correct nutrients - I do add "Prozyme" to their meals which helps their body's absorb the nutrients in their food.

cardiguy - great picture of Ruby! she is such a beauty. It was a week or two ago we had to start resizing the thumbnails BUT the good news is you dont need to when you add new pics to Ruby's Members Gallery.
CeCe - glad to hear Oliver is better. It had to have been a difficult time for you figuring out what was wrong and how to correct it! Good for you for trusting yourself.
