I am not sure if I would have time for more than 1 corgi site. I also think that for everyday questions on corgis, the answer you get from regular people raising corgs works out well but a person would have a choice rather to subscribe or not.

I appreciate you input and that leads me to state that my "idea" was just that and I certainly was not saying "hey, we need a better site than this one" simply because this site is VERY well done and all of us should be very grateful to the owners/designers. My idea was just something different, and actually, a printed newsletter is something quite different yet. I have to digest all of this and again, I thank you all for your input.

I have the emails of those who did respond. I will be sending it out in an email next week, and it is short, but mighty...like a certain dog.

corgimom- corgimum has generously written a piece about her lovely aging corgi, I am writing a couple of pieces, and using some free graphics *cited of course* and some corgi photographs I took of my lovely girl and her "aunt".
The first issue is very small but hopefully the next one will be much better and larger

Corgi_Princess,
I would like to read Corgimum's article, I bet it is well written I thought I should mention though that Hoflin Publishing owns the rights to the name "Corgi Quarterly"; you may want to check into that before using that title for your newspaper. Years ago the "Corgi Quarterly" was published quarterly, but is now published annually. |

Are you referring to the Corgi Cryer? I resgistered to receive it and just received the latest issue yesterday. I probably won't renew my subscription because it's not my thing. It really seems to me all about competition w/ Corgis (conformation to tracking, etc). I subscribe to Dog Fancy, get the AKC magazine and also the Whole Dog Journal. I have to say, I really enjoy the Whole Dog Journal. I believe it's mission is to educate about holisitc care (feeding, medicating, etc) dogs. Also not necessarily my thing but very interesting. It really has some very good articles about training. I feel like Dog Fancy is 75% advertising (probably not all that unusual for a magazine.....

Susan - I can write about almost anything and sometimes it makes sense. I sent in an article for a Corgi club newsletter, free of charge of course, and they refused to publish it because they said they don't want members bragging about their Corgis. Now this is a newsletter that is always short of material and is really scratching for stuff. I sold my 'bragging' story to a magazine for $300 and I ceased my membership of the club. On Go Corgi and Dogster you can brag as much as you like and then some more!
I have this little story mentioned in a forthcoming article I am writing which is about the internet taking over dog clubs. |

And I agree with your assessment of Dog Fancy. There is very little actual information in there. But I still like the pictures!
