Corgi Torture

Yes... those are cheerios... known better to Checkers as training treats. I'm so mean to him! What he doesn't tell you in the picture is that mom lets him eat the cheerios after posing for the camera.

That is just sooo cute! what a look on checkers face! Is that the ultimate in concentration or what? I tried the cookie on the nose thing with tiny treats and i get one on there and within two seconds he MUST eat it...he just cant wait. it is touching him, and that means it is his! I can leave a cookie on the floor and tell him to sit and stay but not on his nose...i have work to do to get him there...sigh! LOL!

This is one of his best tricks.. almost completely 100% reliable. I am sure if I could afford steak he would sit there patiently for that too! I know I have put bacon and ham in front of him and told him to leave it with no problems. He would sit there for half an hour if I told him to. I would have to say, leave it, drop it, and stay are his best commands.

I could put steak in front of Cody and tell him to leave it and he would listen, but to put it on his nose(any type of meat), and not have him eat it, would be difficult

What a great photo. and it tells a story too. I suppose he shook his head with vigour a moment after you snapped the shot, and the 'life savers' went to all four corners with a Corgi madly scrambling after them.

Note: I said life savers because they look a lot like the mint lollies of the same name.

Gee, wonder where she got the idea to train Checkers to do this! Ask her about Bunny!

OK Cheryl - tell us the bunny story! Your Mom has ratted you out
Hehe.. Bunny was the name of our buff Cocker Spaniel we had growing up. My mom taught her to balance treats on her nose very much like that. Though I have to say, lining up the cheerios like I did was original from me hehe.

Funny thing is even after I give him permission to "go ahead" he just kinda drops his head down and waits for them to fall off. I guess he knows better than to send them everywhere or he risks loosing some to either Cheyenne or my son!

Smile *~* I get a new job...and miss all the fun stuff !!

*~* Cheryl,
TOO CUTE !! Checkers..NOT ONLY has accomplished the command of, "leave it"...but, he stayed still long enough for you to take the picture.

Okay, so it may only take a few minutes to actually TAKE the picture...but, he had to:
1...sit still
2...balance the cheerios on his nose
3...leave it (them)
4...wait for the silly picture to be taken (cute picture...I mean)
5...wait for MOM to give the next command

So, there is MORE to this picture !

I have appreciation for the whole "set up" of this SHOT !!

Kudos, Checkers !
Way to go, Cheryl !!

TOO CUTE... !!!

*~* Nikki
P.S. I just got a new job...I am in training this whole week. I feel that I have missed so much !
