Thank goodness for our pets :)

Well, today was a not-so-great day for me. After having a generally terrible start to a school year--mistaken identity, one very out-of-control student--my year got worse. I was cutting on the cutting board when I inadvertently cut a semi-big chunk of flesh off my index finger. So, after spending alot of time at the ER and blacking out, I came home to a day brightener--Dudley. One look at him, and I felt so much better. He was so calm and unusually cuddly--just laying by me and giving me random kisses on the nose. It's amazing what a kiss and a cuddle from a loving pet can do.
Who else has a story of how a pet, corgi or otherwise, who has brought joy to an otherwise terrible day?

Wow, sounds like you had a pretty bad day! So sorry, hope your finger feels better soon. I am glad that Dudley was there to give kisses and snuggles when you need it most.

Dillon definately brings me a smile when i have had a bad day. My back has been giving me trouble lately and i was sooo bad on saturday, i was in tears, and Dillon kept coming up to me and sticking his cold wet nose on my cheek...It really made me feel better!

Oh Gosh Jeni, I hope your feeling better. Corgi Kisses are the best.

Last week I lost my 1st cousin in a tractor accident, he was only 28. Darci was my bright shinning light through it all. She knows just how to lick away my tears.

Darci - That is so sad. I am sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your family.

Jeni - I hope this week goes much better for you and your cut heals quickly. There is nothing better then a warm, cuddly corgi to help you forget your troubles.

Jeni,

Sorry to hear about your finger. That must have been a scary thing. I hope it heals quickly for you. How many stitches did you have to get?

Cindy,

I am very sorry to hear about your cousin and the tractor accident. I am assuming this took place on a farm? Often times I read about stores like that and it is just hard to imagine these sad incidents. My condolences to you and your family.

Jeni - I hope you only teach kids of five years to 12 years of age. Because after that age, it is dynamite being a teacher.
Mind you, teaching kids in NZ seems a lot less stressful than what generally can occur in the USA. I know well the schools my three kids have been through and it is relatively a piece of cake for teachers in dealing with what we call here primary and intermediate levels of students. It is at the college stage where all kinds of headaches arise. But our problem students are just a pin prick compared with the USA and some other countries. Fortunately my children have gone to middle class schools - private schools - apart from my youngest who has been going to a public school ever since we shifted to another suburb nearly four years ago - but even that school sets high standards and is Christian-based.
Taylor, my Pem has been made very welcome at all the schools he has regularly appeared at. And at the Silverstream school that my youngest son attends, as I have intimated often enough on Go Corgi, a high proportion of the school kids and teachers knows him by name and when we arrive on the premises, he gets greeted from all angles. And let me tell you the school rules are: no dogs allowed on the school grounds. But Taylor is not a dog - he's a Corgi.

Ouch Jeni! Those paper cutters are dangerous! I can certainly sympathize with the bad days teaching - they can be so draining & disheartening. But, luckily, you have a furry little pick-me-up at home with you!

Cindy - I am so sorry for your loss. How tragic. I'm glad that Darci was there to comfort you in your time of sadness.
