Emma the watchdog
As most of you know Emma has been kept fairly quiet these past few months because of her health. Late yesterday afternoon I let her and Chloe onto the deck for supper as a treat for her. When they came back inside it was darker and I hadn't turned on the kitchen light.
Em started off with her best bad girl growl and got more loud "with her bad self" She had Chloe on the alert and falling in behind her as back-up. I couldn't figure what was going on...had a stranger come in the front door and was now hiding in the corner of the kitchen? had a wild rabid racoon snuck in the utility window? I fliped on the kitchen light...There right next to Emma's inside bowl was the intruder! My fabric box sitting in the floor! Granted it is a corgi shaped square box and it was next to the food bowl! Once again my brave little team has saved me from an errent household object that got loose in the house...Has anyone else been "saved" lately?

Oh that is funny T-Gal,
Just think that Fabric was threat to her next meal I had been saved and I had posted about it before school started on a previous thread about fears. I was saved from a Black Back pack that had fallen onto the floor from my sons closet Thank heavens Cody was there to let me know I was in danger

I was saved - as well as the entire floor of my apartment building from the terribly scary wreath a neighbour had put on her door - sadly for my neighbours it was 6:30 AM on a weekday. That will teach them from doing dangerous things like that!
The best was that my same neighbour had one of those decorations that looks like a witch has flown into the wall on her door - every single time we came out, Riley would have a fit - my neighbour finally had to take it down.

Oh how cute! I am not sure that Dillon is what i would consider protective - Mydog fancy magazine came in the mail. I held up the front cover which had a big dog face on it- he poked his nose on the magazine and barked- I made the magazine bark back and move towards him and he started the usual frapping behavior where he runs in large loops all crazy- tucking his rump under as he passes that magazine dog! LOL!! he is a nut. He does bark to warn us that the awful mail truck is here and does that low- under his breath bark he does when the neighbors cat wanders into our yard ...He is great with my cats, but other cats are NOT supposed to be in his yard.

Maxi has saved me from a discarded Christmas Tree, a pile of ice and a tree branch that was soaked with water and lower to the ground. It amazes me that they remember what was in their area and can pick out things that are out of place or were not there the last time they were in that area.

Deb, I wonder if the witch will be back this year? or perhaps the neighbor has learned her lesson
We will all be able to sleep a little easier tonight knowing our brave little corgi is watching out for us

Sadly, our neighbour with the witch moved - but the new people left out a big scary bag of garbage that we gave a good woofing to!
Jhemhill is so right about them knowing what belongs in their neighbourhood - they dirve me nuts either barking at the silliest things or dragging over to soemthing to sniff it and see what it is. The opposite is what they never forget they saw and expect it to be there all the time. There is a crack in one of the stairs at our school up the street that once a chipmunk was spotted ducking into. For three years, every morning Rupert drags me to the crack and attempts to suction out the potential chipmunk with his nostrils. He is determined to get that darn thing!
