Smile Who's dressing their corgi for Halloween?

I was at Target over the weekend and saw an adorable costume for Milo. I vow never to embarrass him with anything frilly and silly but I couldn't help it. I bought him a dino costume for Halloween. To my surprise, he was even more adorable!

My husband has a tradition of dressing in costume to pass out candy to the kids who Trick-or-Treat. And we even dressed my cocker spaniel as his sidekick - she was quite the hit with the neighborhood kids.

So, we do already have some costumes in storage. We have a pirate and a bat costume - the pirate costume is really cute . I am anxious to see if Mazie will be willing to help Daddy this year.

Target had the greatest dog costumes this year! I couldn't resist buying the moose for Tucker and the ladybug for Lulu. I bought them in size medium. Neither fit Tuck and they were both snug on Lulu. Of course while I was trying them on my two hoodlums.... SOMEONE ATE MY RECEIPT!!!!! The shreds were on the floor.

I ended up taking them back complete w/ soggy bits of the receipt (in a ziplock bag no less....) to exchange. They fell for the "my dog ate the receipt" thing, had a good giggle over the ziplock bag + remnants of receipt and let me exchange.

Target was almost sold out but I managed to find a large ladybug but no moose, so I got the chicken.

The large Ladybug is a bit too large on Lulu but I suspect she will do some more growing in the coming month. Tucker in the chicken suit had me in tears!!!! He hated it but still managed to parade around the house in it. Poor Lulu didn't know what to do with the ladybug wings.

Last year Tuck dressed up as a School bus and won most original contest at the Halloween Pets on Parade. I was going to dress him as a Winnebago this year but heck.... a store bought costume will do too!

By the way.... if anyone is in the Capital District area of NYS, Goold Orchards is having their 2nd Halloween Pets on Parade on Saturday October 28th. Great fun and loads of laughs. Last year people brought cats!

Susan, my Target was almost sold out also! We actually got the M for Milo in the bumble bee but it was a bit tight on him. So we went back to exchange but no more bumble bee! We got the L for him in the green Dino. They have cool costumes but cheap prizes. The hat was too big for Milo but the suit fit nicely! Is my Milo more chubby than your corgis!?

I bought his pumpkin costume from Japan 2 weeks ago...thinking tat it is the largest size, thus Buta might be able to fit in....I was shocked, she has grown so chubby that the pumpkin suit could only fit into one side of her body making plans to make my own Buta halloween suit

I think corgis can fit the M size but they fit better with the L size because they are long! And the M size that fit Milo only covered HALF of his long body! He actually didn't mind the outfit. He's usually fussy. Now I'm thinking of getting him a sweater and some winter boots so he can play in the snow. Of course, that's still a few months to go.

Hayashi - You are new to the forum. Welcome! This is a great corgi lovers site!

I don't know a lot of Asians who own corgis. I, myself is Asian American, and I'm always happy to share my stories to other Asians who rarely own corgis. They usually own the pugs or shizhu (don't know how to spell it). =)

I think Target's S-M-L sizes are meant for small dogs to begin with. No way would a L ever fit a lab! Tuck is actually small for a male Pem. he weighs in around 24 lbs (a goal his vet set for me...). And Lulu is still a peanut compared to her littermates!

The target costumes sure didn't last long!

Someone mentioned after their dog didn't flip out w/ the halloween costume getting winter sweater and boots. Here's a comment on the boots: GOOD LUCK!!!! Tucker absolutely hated the boots. He was on a mission to get them off. I walk him along the shoulder of the road in the winter (out here in the boonies we don't have sidewalks) and was very worried about the salt and chemicals from the snow plows hurting his paws. Never got him out of the yard in them!

Thumbs up pet costumes!

Being the indulgent grandmother - I bought a costume for my grandson from this site and had it sent to his mother. They also have costumes for pets!

Here are some pics!!

This is Milo and I. Milo is wearing his dino costume without the head piece since it doesn't fit. He actually just got neutered a day before.

This is Milo's daddy and my fiance. We're at home so please don't mind the mess. This is Milo and his post operation photo. He has his cone on!

oh what great photos! Milo is so cute in his costume! I wish the head fit him so we could see it. I am sure he must look so funny and cute.

I wanted to dress up Dillon for Halloween so when kids come they will see him, but there are several problems with this idea, one is that my hubby told me that it makes him lose dignity being dressed up, I told him children dress up for halloween and they dont lose their dignity...He begged me not to make poor Dillon look silly...I saw the cutest costumes on Dr. Foster's and Smith and some of the costumes i have seen are hysterical... The second problem with dressing him up is that not only will Dillon hate a costume and be chewing to get it off ( like he does with his winter boots) but also i am not sure he will find it fun to have tons of kids at the door constantly. He loves kids but is really too much for kids under 8 yrs old - he pops up and often accidentally bumps kids in the face with his head or nose... We have been working hard on having him sit to be petted, but he loses his mind around kids ( i think it is the kids' excited squealing that does it). I will have to settle for seeing everyone's costumes here ...post lots of photos folks!

Great pictures! Milo could wear his dino clothes when it's cold outside in NY this winter.

And if you want to talk messy - come to my house and see our Granddaughter Leah's room after she's spent the weekend! She doesn't like her Bratz moved so she can continue playing if she goes outside then comes back inside - trouble is Chloe loves their fingers and arms - tastes like chicken!

I read that only dull women have clean houses! I'm not dull

I was never one for dressing up dogs...I always thought it was kind of cookie, but after seeing all the fun pictures on here and online, I couldn't resist...so I am officially one of THOSE people And proud of it
Dudley's grandma (my mom) spoils him. She got him not one, but two costumes! One is a witch (I know, he's a boy, but she thought it was a cute costume). The other one she got from Target and is a Yoda costume. We call Dudley, Yoda at night because when he gets tired his ears stick straight out the side of his head so the costume was perfect!
