We all have seen how some pets dress or look similar to their owners. But, do you think you and your corgi have similar personalities, disposition, or temperament? This got me thinking on a previous post about the average time we leave our corgis alone at home.
I don't know if it's inherent or they adopt to our behaviors and personalities. When we first got Milo, we had to choose between him and his brother who was left with the breeder. People already took all the other corgis and the females one were taken first. Milo was the first one to come out to greet us and started walking and roaming everywhere. His brother was shy and reserved. He looked very calm. We chose Milo since he was curious and sweet. After having Milo and gauging his personality - we realized he is very similar to us...and of course there are differences. Milo is very hyper - of course, he's a puppy. He's also very clever. He's like the Bart Simpson of the family. When he shreds papers and we find out he did it, we take the paper and wave it in front of him. He immediately lowers his head and lays down because he know he's wrong. Does your corgi take after your personality, traits, or temperament? I think Milo really does take after some of our personality - not all but a lot. |

Jackie definitely shares my love of food!
![]() We are both "class-clowns", and it's a toss-up as to which one of us is more stubborn. But she has WAY more self-confidence than I do. SO I guess you could say that I see some similarities.

I can see a lot of my personality in both of my dogs - and I could in Riley too. Just having herding dogs is me - I am the organizer/herder of the office so my co-workers often joke about me being a Corgi.
Rupe and I are both outgoing, clowns, teasers but also have our quiet reserved side. Niether Rupe nor I suffer fools gladly. Jemma, while we are still getting to know her and she is a pup, is very outgoing, full of beans, and loves meeting new people - I however, am not know for licking people. When people ask about how owners and their dogs look similar, I always say they're short, I'm short, they have no tails, I have no tail.

Rhys and I - well, like Jackie and Jessica, we both love food! He is definitely more outgoing than me. We both like to sleep, are smart, have our silly sides, and always want our way! And we're stubborn.

I so agree! Milo is short, I'm short. Milo has no tail. I have no tail. Milo is clever and sneaky, so am I. Milo doesn't like to be wrong. So am I. But, Milo is hairy. I'm not hairy. Milo's eyes glow, mine don't. =)
Milo LOVES to drink water. I love to drink water. Milo reminds me when I was a kid. We both have that "I didn't do it" look. |

Cody likes to meet people and so do I - at times, he does things he shouldn't; sometimes I say things I shouldn't Cody has a stubborn side, so do I.We both love to eat and anything goes; we are not picky when it comes to food I am an organizer and like to keep busy, Cody can be busy at times, but we both enjoy our naps. Cody likes to be a little clown, I like to pull jokes on people in a nice way.Cody sometimes walks into a room and looks bewildered as to why he is there; I am starting to do that on occasion

"I however, am not known for licking people" Jespah
I thought that was the funniest line. The only real thing alike about Duchess and me, was we bonded immediately. Last edited by Jane Austen; 09-29-2006 at 12:37 PM. |
