Welcome Bensmom! Do you have a corgi too? What part of Utah are you in? That picture was taken at the Ogden River Park.

Those are the trees that are turning color. We had a really cold snap a little over a week ago and those same mountains were snow topped for several days. Now I wish I had gotten a picture then too! Oh well... we'll be leaving in an hour to drive up the mountain pass and I'll be sure to take the camera along so we can get up close pictures of the trees.

As for the park, technically it is not an "off-leash" dog park... but if you demonstrate that you have good control of your dog nobody bothers you if you take them off for a short time (I take Checkers off-lead to play a little fetch and then down to the river for a swim... but keep him on lead all the rest of the time just in case). It's a really neat place, has a trail 3.1 miles long running alongside the river, with picnic areas places periodically along the trail, as well as designated doggy potty areas complete with fire hydrants and several stations that have bags for potty pick-up. The open field is about the size of three or four football fields... so there is plenty of room even when there's quite a few people out. It's also right outside the mountain pass so there are some good winds there often times for great kite flying. The trail also runs right beside the city animal shelter and the Ogden Dinosaur Museum. I wish every city could have a park like this one...

Cheryl - awesome picture! I just love the mountian in the background. It definately looks like a great place to do anything! I too, wish every city had a park like that. Oh the fun Ace would have there!
