Today is the day...
Huw comes home today. We'll be leaving in about 2 hours for the 3 hour trip over to Colfax to pick up our little boy. I think we're all ready, but man am I anxioius. Am I going to do this right? Do I have everything he's going to need? Oh god, there goes my sleep for a while!
Ok, so the last one's not too important, but still...i'm very nervous. The front yard is all taken care of for potty training, he has his crate and blankies, food bowls and food, toys and treats...is that all? Wish us luck on the drive back. I'll post lots of pictures when he's napping tomorrow. Thanks guys...you are the best!!!

I remember so much about the moment I laid eyes on Tucker. And the journey home from KY to NY State.
I ended up flying to KY to pick him up and carry him home on the plane. The breeder picked me up at my hotel, took me to the farm to meet Tuck, then brought us back to the hotel for shuttle to airport. Fast forward 1 1/2 years..... I was travelling on business this week and happened to look out my hotel window early Thursday morning. The hotel shuttle was taking a group of people somewhere. Memories came flooding back of Tucker getting a ride to the airport in the hotel shuttle. I remembered the smells, how Tuck looked out the van window, he wasn't the least bit scared. He wanted to chew on Bruce the Moose, his stuffed moose toy....

Wow how exciting for you!!! I'm sure none of us will ever forget the day we got our kids! I'm sure that you've done everything you can and more - we can't wait to see photos.
This is Rupe sleeping on my lap on the 9 hour drive back from Indiana to Toronto - by that time he was totally bonded to me!

How exciting! I can't wait to see pics. I remember when I brought little Dudley home from Arkansas, poor guy was sick the whole way, and now he is seven months old and 25 pounds. Time flies! Enjoy everyday!!

Oh my...here i am reading all of your wonderful posts, and crying. It's so great to share this with you guys. Justin and I had a great time...we wanted to bring all three home, but one is good for now. I couldn't imagine a more perfect beginning for him. He was so wonderful on his ride home. We had him in the crate, and he loved it. We made quite a few stops, and he did great on each one, but never pottied...had me worried for a bit. Then when we got home, he pooed on the carpet. It was the funniest thing...it was like he was finally home and relaxed. That has been the one and only time so far. We've been going outside every so often, and he goes each time. I can tell already that he will love to eat (just like his human daddy). Oh, get this...he slept through the entire night...not one whimper or whine..AND...NO potty in the crate. Can you believe this?!?! He's sleeping right now in front of the fire place..and when he wakes up, it will be lunch time.
I am so happy that he is home, and has been such the perfect dog so far. I know there will be "events" in the future that will not be so perfect, but I look forward to those too. I wish I could send you guys what he smells like...I just love puppy smell. Well, I've posted some pics in the gallery...hope you guys get a chance to look. I'll keep 'em coming as he gets older.
