Snoring & Grunting

Hi guys,

I have been wondering about this for a LONG time actually ever since the first nite I got Buta. She snores & grunts alot. When I say she snores she really does it so LOUD & CLEAR that she can wake me up with it. Her grunting happens when I scratch, rub or hug her. Mum says she is a pig in a Corgi's body Just curious if your corgis like this???

I do believe it is a corgi thing...see Dillon also snores, not all the time, but sometimes he is in a position that he will snore, and yes, it is clear and loud and me and my hubby get a good laugh from it. He also snorts/grunts like a little piggy - usually when sniffing something, or in the midst of play- it is really cute! Dillon also dreams and makes these closed mouth barking sounds...and his little feet jerk and run...I imagine he must be having a chasing dream...maybe one of my furry kitties or maybe he is herding sheep ( rather than counting them)

No snoring out of Princess Fluffypants . . . just a lot of Chewbacca-style "talking".

Lulu lets out these "heavy sighs". How can one so small have so much on her mind?

When Tuck was a baby he snored like a freight train. Not so much anymore.

I love talking (not barking) corgis! I puppy sat for Pippin, a 3 year old Pem who would sit for hours while I rubbed hid tummy and tell me all about his day. Tucker is the strong silent type.

I swear Pippin could tell time. He knew when it was 5:00 on the dot. He would start talking away at me as if to say "where's my dinner"?

So now I have Lulu and Lulu is a talker. She will lie next to me on the couch before bedtime and tell me all about her day. I love the sounds she makes. Kind of like Chewbaca, kind of like a pirate, kind of like a drunk!

Dillon also is a talker...especially when we play- he makes the funniest sounds, chewbaca is a good description of it, and sometimes he sounds like he is saying meow and mama...it always makes me laugh...

Rhys is a little Wookie dog, like Fluffypants Jackie!

I think I have heard Rhys snore maybe ONCE since I got him. He is a very quiet sleeper. Unlike my lab, who can snore like a freight train (she lives at my mom's house now, due to age...sometimes I miss her snoring).

I don't believe that Corgis are a breed that is subject to snoring such as you would find with Pugs, Boxers, Bulldogs etc. But if your Corgi is overweight, snoring could be one of the outcomes. Allergies can trigger off snoring and beds that are not what your Corgi prefers is another. So try a change of bed for your snoring Corgi - and get that weight down to where it ought to be.

A grunting Corgi is probably a Corgi noisily displaying his/her enjoyment.

Milo snores occasionally especially if he's really tired but it's never anything too loud. He doesn't grunt but he lets out heavy sighs when he's laying down. I look at him and say "Why are you so tired?! You didn't have to work 9 hours today! You were just eating and playing." I wish I lived such a good life like him!

Corgis definitely have a better breathing passage than other breeds who are more flat faced.
