Camping Question
Hi there fellow Corgi lovers. I have a question regarding what to take for Sassy camping to keep her from being bored. We go to the Smoky Mtns and luckily we have been there enough that Sassy knows everyone and several people come to see her and visit and we walk her around the campground several times a day but I feel she gets bored easily. In June we took her soccer ball and she and I played for short periods but we have to watch as she is supposed to be on a leash at all times, but we have (as stated above) gone to this campground on several occasions and have a little more freedom.
I was just wondering what type of toys or suggestions you may have to help me keep Sassy from being bored. Barbara

We've camped with our two quite a bit over the years. We take along their x-pens and set them up in a shady spot, giving them some freedom of movement outside of the trailer. Plus 2 very long lines that we attach to the trailer step. They do have a couple of special toys that we save just for camping, and some special bones too.
Other than that, they don't seem to be bored at all, they enjoy all the new sights, sounds & smells that the campgrounds have. Plus of course if they are with us, their pack is intact, and that always makes them happy.

I would love to go camping with Dillon! That sounds like a lot of fun. I agree with Corgimum that you could get a very special toy that you only use there - it would make it that much more special. Is there water where you camp? maybe a fun floating toy for Sassy if she likes going in the water. The bone idea is one i would use too. Other than that, maybe just a few hikes in the beautiful smokies...ahhh that sounds like so much fun!

I don't think it is possible for a Corgi to get bored when on a camping trip - different sights and sounds and smells. Lots of exercise will have Corgis looking forward to relaxing situations and preparing for the next interesting thing to come around.
