Paws turning black or becoming spotted with black, very normal related to maturity and pigmentation. While soft and pink is nice, if anyone remembers going barefoot at the beginning of summer in their youth, well having a corgi's pads a little tougher isn't a bad thing.

Debbie

PS: Now go smell those little pink or spotted pink footsies and see if they don't smell like Fritos or other corn chips.

Best not to have guests over when you are doing this

Has she been spayed? Are you sure she never had pups before?

Deb, Jesse says hi to brother Trevor. Jesse's foot pads started out all pink but are now starting to get black here and there. And of course our boys both have their blotchy tummy freckles, though a light fur is starting to grow on some tummy parts where you can see less of the dark freckles. Reba has black foot pads and I got her as an 8 year old rescue so I'm assuming she started out with all pink foot pads and they blackened with age.

Shelly, Trevor is waving a paw back to Jesse, although since he was playing in the MUD at obedience class this morning, it's not such a pink paw anymore - sort of a dirty brown instead!

A couple of weeks ago I noticed what I thought was a speck of dirt or something on his forehead - right in the middle of the white blaze. Instead, it was really the color of his skin showing through his fur. I guess I assumed he was pink all over under his coat, but I guess he is blotchy on other parts of his body too??
