How short are corgis? - Page 2

Wow, those corgis in the 1930's - 1950's look a bit different than our more modern corgis. They look so distinguished and sublime - unlike my silly golden rat. They look so poised and elegant like they have so much manners. Mine just poops and eats.

This one looks more like Milo. =) It's very interesting to see. They do look more lean and less short and stumpy. Thanks for sharing the link, Dillydoodle!

Wow, glencorgi - you really have done your homework!

Who would have thought that - on top of being champion eaters and destroyers of toys - we could also be MASTERS OF ILLUSION??

I think the "original" Corgis look more like working farm dogs and now they are going for the more cutsey look.

Neat picture and a different looking Corgi. I read where even the Queen had hired a behaviorist back in the 80's because the staff was complaining about the Corgis biting at their ankles.

When I first found out that the Queen of England loved corgis, I thought - Great taste! And she is so loyal to them. She had them since she was like a teenager. Corgis must have made an everlasting impression on her. There was a great documentary on corgis and the Queen of England. Also, they added so many royal pets that were very important to other kings and queens.

I think corgis were first trained for the herding and farm life. Eventually, they became mostly family companions. Now, we prefer them not to really nip us. When Milo was a young pup, he tried to nip us. Now, he doesn't nip us. He just walks IN FRONT of us (all the time and even squeezes by just to be ahead) and wiggles. He looks back to make sure we're behind him. I pretend many times to walk away and he has this "Hey, where you're going" look.

I love looking at corgi history and pictures. The corgi documentary was aired on PBS a while ago.

By the way, I think I'm obsessed with the breed! We have thought of getting another dog in the future and I said corgi again. My fiance said huskie. I said that dog is too big for us! We got a fox and now he wants a wolf!
