Chip'sMom: As for posting the photos, are you continually being asked to sign in? It's probably your security system, I can't send photos through my laptop or desktop(same system), and have to use my husband's laptop(different security system). You can change your settings and easily correct this problem, but I do not recommend that because you will weaken your system, and that's why you have the security program anyway.
And you really do have a huge choice in front of you!!! |

The two puppies that are posted last are the ones that I am considering. I am really leaning towards the tri now. I think he is going to be beautiful so what do you all think as far as markings, etc. The breeder said he may turn to a red head tri but she doubts it because he is really black. I am clueless on the tri's so someone help me out please and explain. What are the chances of him turning color? Thanks

) I think the little tri will turn red-headed, there are already indications he's going that way. What are the colors of the parents? And of the grandparents? I'm not sure if this will take you directly to the article which shows and discusses the development of red headed and black headed tris or not. http://www.emrys-corgis.com/IF not then click on the articles link and select: Development of Red in Red and Black-Headed Tricolors Debbie, who has to admit it is a lot of fun having a puppy around again

Debbie,
thanks for the Emry site - lots of good info and loved seeing the difference in BH & RH tri's color changes. I could match up Chloe's color changes with the BHT's - cool... Bonnie, I'll tell you what I told my Sons - they are all beautiful but go with personality!

I may have to go back to the drawing board and decide on male/female New Year's weekend when I go there and take my chances. By then I will be able to see their personalities. In good conscience, I just feel obligated not to hinder the breeder.

Bonnie they are sooo cute...I do like the little tri male on the bottom... I thought you can chose which ever one you want?
Debbie how does it work? How do the breeders know for sure which one they will keep for show? Do they not make any decisions about which puppies are adopted out until they are all 8 wks old? I just wonder about this becuase how can a perspective puppy buyer know which puppy will be theirs until they are a bit older? This might be a really basic "duhhh" kind of question, but i really dont know how that works. I am wondering mostly becuase if Bonnie is offered pick of the litter but they are too young to know temperment yet what does one do to ensure they get the right fit ( if everyone else picks what they want and there is only one puppy left you dont get a real choice)? Did my ramblings make any sense to anyone? LOL it is still early here Emilie |

Emilie:
Your ramblings make a lot of sense and you are exactly right. I can choose whichever one I want. However, some people choose strictly on what a puppy looks like and not on temperment. I have got to make sure that a puppy will get along with Chip and that is my first priority. It may sound partial, but Chip has to be my top priority in this mix. The breeder will wait for my decision but I am the type of person who doesn't want to hold her back on selling her puppies. Although, she assures me I am not holding her back. She said that if this person is interested in one of those two, she will tell her that someone else is interested and then contact me. I might be overreacting which I do sometimes and worry too much. I try real hard not to impose on people and I think it is very nice of her to give me a pup when she didn't have to. Now I am rambling but do you see my dilemma.
