Gizmo was blessed
Saturday was the Illinois Corgi Picnic. We all had a really fun time. The organizer of the picnic arranged to have her minister there, where he blessed all the corgis. This week was St. Francis Day (Patron Saint of animals and ecology), so I imagine many churches are offering this.
Has anybody else have their pets blessed? Judy & Gizmo |

Chip was blessed at the TN Corgi Picnic and I was just so thrilled. I had so wanted Digger to be blessed or prayed over when I found out he was sick. I am glad of the churches and ministers that acknowledge our animals.

The Blessing of the Animals in our community is this coming Sunday and Chloe will be there again this year. Last year it was held in the park and attended by many critters and their humans. It was a moving (and lively) event and we are looking forward to it - Chloe's St. Francis medal jingles on her collar with her rabies tag as a constant reminder that all God's creatures are loved and protected...

I took the dogs up to our Anglican Church on Saturday for the annual blessing of the animals. This is the 3rd year we have gone. It is a service held outside and this year we had everything from dogs to fish. It is a very sweet service, and our Priest has a great sense of humour - and a dog so it's quite a service. He is terrified of snakes and his wife is always trying to find someone to bring a snake so Father Miles will have to touch it. He and his family are the ones who had the wake for Riley at their home.
