Some friends of mine let me use their backyard for Riley's first birthday. I bought wine and cheese for the bi-peds and had a special cake ordered from a dog bakery - it was in the shape of a big purple bone. I made up loot bags for the dogs with home made cookies and cheap toys from the dollar store.
Rupe's birthday is in February, so for his first birthday I rented the space at a local doggy daycare and he and all his friends got to run around indoors and have a blast. I got coffee and muffins for the people.
If Milo has special people in his life, invite them - he'll love it and they'll get a kick out of it too.

Jespah - Sounds wonderful! How old is Riley and Rupe now?

I think it'll be so nice if everyone can post a picture of their corgi's birthday party!

Rupert will be 5 on February the 15th - I tell him that Valentines Day was already sweet enough so he waited to be born on the 15th.

Riley would have been 6 on the 20th of this month. I know it will be a hard day for me.

Jemma will be 1 on January the 19th, so we'll have new first birthday to plan for.

While we were all singing Happy Birthday to Riley at her first birthday party, she jumped on the table and started licking her cake.

Haha, that's TOO CUTE! So adorable. She couldn't wait for her cake! Lol! I think corgis love to eat!

How do you handle having 3 corgis? That must be a lot of work and a lot of fun! I see Riley is wearing a nice neck tie thingy!

Deb, you are very brave. Please excuse me for not knowing.

I want to say it's very brave for anyone to have to face any of those situations with courage. I don't think I can face it. Even though Milo is only 9 months old, I can't bare to think if he's not with me one day. I sometimes cry thinking of it (I'm very sentimental and emotional). I don't think I'll ever be the same. That's why some people have told me they never want to get another pet b/c they can't bare losing them.

I sent Tucker to a professional groomer for his first birthday. Well.... maybe not as much a treat for him as for me....

But hey! It was a new human giving all her attention to him, someone he could smooch all over, and when I picked him up he came trotting out to me looking absolutely handsome with a huge Corgi smile on his face.

And of course, he got chicken!

Please don't worry Sweetlychee, you didn't know. It was very hard, but I don't regret the pain I suffer, for the joy I got from having her. It is always worth it. Enjoy Milo, everyday - and especially on his birthday!

Hey Susan - at least you gave Tuck chicken and didn't dress him like one!!!

Susan: Wow, that was definitely a treat for YOURSELF! But I'm sure Tucker enjoyed it. Which dog doesn't LOVE chicken??

Great ideas, folks! I guess I'll be spoiling Milo soon enough. He's a winter baby. I'll buy him a winter jacket!? Hahah.
