Sure turtles can be blessed - we had a fish at the service. October 4th was the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. A number of churches of all denominations offer blessings of the animals around that time. I don't attend a church, but am friends of the local Anglican priest and his family, so we go every year up the church and get the dogs blessed. It's a lovely service - we were talking about this in one of the other threads last week, but I can't remember which one.
There still may be some churches having thenm in your area - you could call around.

Sure why not? If I ever got married - first of all, it would be a miracle, secondly my dogs definitely would be there!
If, it means a lot to you and you can't find a church who will let Milo attend - have an outdoor service!

I would love my dog to be at my wedding. I think some of our family members will find it odd (they are not all animal lovers) but I wouldn't care. I treat Milo as if he's my child. He eats before me! He sleeps before me! He gets to do everything before me because I place him as #1 so of course he has to be at my wedding. I'm just trying to figure out how I can incorporate him in it.

Disraeli: Your Rhys is so smart!! I have seen all the videos on the dogster page. Omg, so smart that even my fiance wanted to meet him! Your water dog is amazing and friendly. Boy, can he run too!
Ok, back to getting married: I like a small wedding. I'm not a bridezilla type also. I rather focus on the marriage than the actual party - the wedding. But, it would be great to have my darling (Milo) there. Sometimes my fiance thinks I love Milo more because I don't yell at Milo but I yell at him. =X |

Las Vegas is a wonderful place to get married with your dogs present. It's quite common, actually. I lived there until I married, now I just commute when work takes me there, and Miss Gambler always goes. The chapels often allow family pets to even participate in the ceremony, ring bearer, etc.... Just thought I'd add to the topic.
Take care, and love your Corgi! |

I have been to Vegas twice and love their buffets. I went last year and 3 years ago. This was pre-Milo. Now, I can't bare leaving him! Well, I did go to Boston and Maine a month ago for 4 days though. ![]() Would love Milo to be the ring bearer. An excellent idea! |

Linda - if you are planning a second honeymoon - what a good idea from Sweetly - don't go to Las Vegas or for sure, you'll play the gambler this time round and gambling was made to lose.
Go where Cody will be happiest and that will make you and your husband very happy. When you go out dining, take a food tasting person with you so that they can sample the food you're thinking of having first, and if they suddenly keel over or rush off to the bathroom, you'll know what not to have. No, naughty girl, don't give this job to hubby. |

No, naughty girl, don't give this job to hubby. On my honeymoon, we moved out of the hotel suite I had booked because of hundreds of invading ants in the kitchen. It was a good excuse to check out completely and find another hotel/motel because we didn't like the place for other reasons. Ants in NZ are very tiny and harmless but no one really wants to share a place with a horde of these insects. |

Sweet - I second the idea of Milo as ringbearer . . . SO CUTE!!! Disraeli - Jackie's hackles are rising at the mention of Lulu!!!! Emilie & Deb - I am still very aware of the day that I put my sweet kitty to sleep . . . and it's been 6 years . . . so I understand (as any pet lover would). Checkers - His first birthday was my first wedding anniversary!! We have such an interrelated family here!!! Jackie's b-day os July 1. For her first b-day this past July, we went to LI for the weekend, her first time at a beach, and we took her out for filet mignon & mashed potatoes for her official birthday dinner. Sure all are sick of hearing that by now . . . but people keep asking!!!!
