Check with Ein's breeder about arrangements and things before you pack her up and take her on an outing to the dog show. Puppies under six months of age are not allowed on showgrounds, especially in the area around where the dogs are showing. Depending upon the AKC rep, you could be asked to leave. She may have a set up where you could leave Ein, visit, watch the show, do some shopping; but please check first.

I saw two cute t-shirts in a magazine yesterday- one said, "Does this shirt make me look fat?" LOL!! and the other one that said " Got treats?" way too funny.

Emilie - I see you also get the In the Company of Dogs catalog? I was seriously tempted to buy the Got Treats shirt! But we also only allow functional clothing and special holiday outfits (Halloween costumes, etc.).

Tashie - SO EXCITING!!!!! I'll bet you are going crazy with anticipation. I remember those days well! She'll be there before you know it, and then you'll be hard-pressed to remember a time when you didn't have her!

ONLY 4 MORE DAYS TO GO!

We have fixed all of our fences, bought all her toys etc. Now we just have to pick her up from the airport!

I don't think Friday will come fast enough.

We went to the Pet Expo on Saturday and got some information about obedience training and agility and that sort of thing (and got a lot of free dog treats!!)

I am just wondering how frightened she will be when I go to pick her up....she may not be frightened at all! I really don't know what to expect.....I'm sure she will at least be a bit confused as to where she is....

I want to make it the best experience possible for her from the time I pick her up from the airport until the rest of the time that we have her.

Did anyone else have to pick their Corgi up from an airport?

Tashie - I picked up Taylor from the airport as a 13 week old pup and after I opened his flight crate (at the insistence of airport staff), the three staff members lined up to give him hugs and say hello even before I and my family could. Any way we stuck around the airport for a while to give Taylor back his land legs and drink some water, and within 15 minures he was in a very playful mood running around on a leash, and giving all of us lots of kisses. He was Mr Friendly and not in the least frightened or timid apart from the very first uncertain moments when he came out of his crate. He was certainly happy to sit on our laps and look out the window on the ride home. We even stopped and grabbed some free barbecued sausages from a car fair and Taylor was very contented and lapping up his new found family. From that day onwards, the only other time he has been in a crate is at conformation shows and agility competition meetings.

Well that is comforting to know!

I'm hoping that it will go very well like that for Ein as well!

Thank you very much for posting that....my mind is more at ease now!

Hooray - Ein is almost home!!! HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY!!!!!

Good advice T-Gal. Jackie is almost 16 months, has never been car sick or had an accident in the car . . . but we STILL bring Resolve (carpet cleaner) and a couple of rags everywhere we go! Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!!!
