She ate my cell phone charger! -
03-01-2007, 05:40 PM
As I was minding my own business today, getting ready for work, a quiet fell over the house. Now, I just assumed that Tim had put Maya in the laundry room as usual when he goes off to work, but I was very mistaken!
I quietly called out to Dudley who immediately trotted in to see me and then immediately trotted back out. This continued two or three times before I realized that he was, in fact, trying to "tell" me something. So, I said, "Where is she, Dud?" He immediately went over to Maya, who was munching something under the table. So, I called out, "Maya Mia!" Out comes Maya, happy as can be with her little tail a waggin' and my cell phone charger in her mouth She had managed to rip it out of the wall, knock off my cell phone, and chew the wire from the adapter, which she then left little puppy teeth in.
I swear this dog is going to be the death of me! Needless to say all cords are now safely (for her safety and our appliances) off the ground. I definitely got lucky with Dudley who never chewed a thing...Maya is definitely giving me a run for my money

I am sorry to hear that Jeni, she sort of sounds like my Cat. My cat had chewed a cord on a table lamp one day and it was sparking, and Cody was barking up a storm to let me know that something was not right.

Jeni,
don't feel bad- Wicca was a horrible creature when she was a puppy! She was so sneaky about stuff. In her pupyhood she ate a pair of glasses- not just sun glasses either! the corner of the coffee table (good for teething ya know), a remote control, and a collar off my other dogs neck!!!
this was all done while I was home- and keeping an eye on her. thank goodness she is an adult!!! I don't miss the puppy stage at all!!!
have fun

oh dear puppy chewing, yes have experienced it with Buta as well...she almost destroyed all of my shoes by the time she was 1yr old & the stranges thing is that she will only chew on MY shoes, not mum's or sis's. She also happens to do it whenever I stay over at my boyfriend's place...
I love love love love loooovvvvveeeee Corgis!!!

Glad to hear she's ok, and if it's any consolation, most of us have lost something we'd rather not have to puppy chewing.
When I place a puppy, I tell people, if you don't want it chewed, don't leave it where the dog can get it. And I kinow you didn't on purpose, and sometimes that happens.
How bad is it chewed? Need a new phone now??
Peggy (who has cat teethmarks on her reading glasses, seems cats chew at times too!)

Oh Jeni... I feel your pain. I thought Tucker was a chewer but Lulu is 10 times worse. She chewed thru the chord of my car charger for the cell phone one day when I left her in the car to run into the store. SO far this week she chewed thru both her Electric Fence Collar and Tucker's ($15 each, I juist replaced Tuck's a month ago after she chewed it!), the wheel on my spinning cycle, and managed to get a slip cover off the beat up love seat to further enlarge the hole she already started.
When she's quiet, I know I'm in trouble!

Chip has gone through three remotes, the antenna on the portable phone, stole my glasses, thankfully, I caught him with those and numerous other items. he has finally stopped and everything is kept up high.

I've been pretty lucky with Penny's destructive side. So far her worst offenses have been chewing a hole in the carpet and peeling some faux wood tape off a closet door...bye-bye pet deposit!
My sister has freakier stories. One time she came home to find her Mastiff had chewed open a package of light bulbs—broken light bulbs and all scattered on the living room floor with the dog relaxing right on top of it all! The dog wasn't injured, but still—yikes!

Dudley did eat a Christmas tree light once. It was really the only thing he ever ate, but it scared me so much. Luckily nothing ever came of it and he is still great today!
