I bought my boys the two inch one and it worked well for them (for the length of time they had it) I think a three inch would be ok too though.

I think I bought the large. It's the size of a baseball.

I thought ya'll might get a kick out of this email an ol' school friend sent me last week. We keep in touch talking about her husband's physical problems and their 2 year old Lab, Trooper. Your Corgis might not be so bad after all. Here's part of what she wrote about him...

Thanks for the reply.....just checking on you. I love the puppy too and as for Trooper, he is still chewing , wood, plastic, cloth, you name it, he chews it........already been through, beef and chicken Nylabones.....he is amazing. Chewed up a small tire into little pieces and had to throw it away as he was eating and swallowing it......never have seen such a creature...Can't wait until he gets older and stops chewing so much. He has gotten a little better, but still chewing limbs, sticks, bushes etc. Think the hot weather will slow him down some.

Sounds like the boy may be in for some false teeth by the time he's five!!

Went with my gut instinct. Called the original breeder today and she asked all the right questions. She said my initial email to her passed her rigorous standards, or she would have sent me to someone else.

She says she has a few R&W males that she'll watch in the coming weeks to make sure they'll be a good fit, but all the research I've done, this woman is a QUALITY breeder. Not just for standard, but for temperment and she is very VERY picky I guess as to who gets one of her puppies. (as the price reflects) I was proud to tell her that in my research, other breeders I had spoken to regarded her and her line in awe. And of course, I'm feeling good myself that she approves of me and likes the "way you think"!

Em will tell you that her line is a beautiful line. I don't want to mention names here, but I will email some of you when I know more and have puppy pictures.

Only thing is that she doesn't know if any of the puppies are fluffies yet or not. But that will be 4 more weeks and she'll know.

So I am glad I didn't give in to my desires and I'm holding out for the best I can afford....

Now the only question remains.... HOW on earth do I WAIT until at least June for a puppy?!

Good choice Mrs. Grace - always choose a line known for temperment as a family pet. It won't help that the dog looks fabulous if it can't be a good member of the family. Although when Rupe gets into big trouble I tell him the only reason I keep him is his looks!!

June isn't so far away and the best thing is you know there is a puppy! The worst is waiting for them to be born and then finding out there isn't one for you!!

Our puppy isn't even born yet and will probably be coming home with us at the end of June... you can pass the time by hanging out on this forum with me! I'll send you pictures in anxious hopefulness if you'll do the same

Gerbils...haha! Boyfriend and I coined the term (said in a very, very high pitched voice) "teeny weenies!!!" for puppies about that size

I call it the guinea pig stage.

I'm off on vacation early (3am wakeup ahhhhh) Saturday for a week during which time our puppy's mother is to give birth. No internet connection, too rural, ahhhh withdrawals. Not really, I need the break.

Then there is the catch up on mail, bills, etc before I can hop on the forum with hopefully news on the litter. So far the word is 3-4 puppies in the litter. Makes me wonder if cardis have smaller litters than pems.

Good luck Mrs Grace and LaRositaMonita on waiting for your puppy.

Merrie

No, 6 to 8 is pretty much an average litter for both breeds, not that all the puppies make it sometimes. Plus if they are going by x-rays, it is not unusual for one, even two to be hiding somewhere.

Have a great vacation and enjoy the peace and quiet.
