There is a collar lady on ebay who sells the cutest designs for like $4-5 a collar. Her call name is hookedonoldglass. She has a store on there and I have about 20 for my boys from her plus these wash and look brand new everytime! It is great. I have collar fetish too! SOrry this was a tad late.

Tucker's puppyhood was such a mix of happiness (that I finally had him!) and constant worry that I might do something that would endanger him or hurt him. At about age one, I relaxed. Then when Lulu came along I was less exhuberant about her puppyhood and kept thinking, I can't wait for her to turn one and be larger and stronger.

Well be careful what you ask for, Lulu will be one next month. I still see a lot of puppy in her but she is no way still a baby.

She is very much growing into her personality and is a little lady.

Remember the terrible teens? I was told they go into it around 6 months and come out at just over a year. I remember when Tucker first started showing signs of coming out of it! Woohoo, what a sweet dog!

And I think I am noticing Lulu coming out of it now! Her recall is much better, she will actually walk to the car rather than me chasing her around the yard.

But is she ever a back talker!!!!!

Tucker and Lulu are both sweeties.

Oh yeah - the backtalk! How could I forget about the backtalk? Jackie's trademark!!!

You're killing me here!! Mine are born, but no pics yet. *sigh*

I have to run upstairs and pull some pictures of the house, so I can send them to the breeder. And pictures of the back and front yards. Want to get those to her ASAP so maybe she'll send me puppy pics....

MrsGrace....

Do you have a fenced in yard? I remember talking to a breeder who within 30 seconds of identifying myself and saying why I was calling her told me: fence in your yard then "you can" call me back and we'll talk about puppies.

OK, I got the picture! By the way, I have Dog Guard, the elctric fence.

The backyard is fully fenced, and it's sturdy so long as I watch the puppy for digging tendencies!

I might invest also in an electric fence for the front as that's where we (my daughter and I) play most days. The back is fine, just not finished landscaping!

I hear you! I had to work VERY hard to defend myself when talking to most breeders about the fact that I live in an apartment. Of course, I grew up in a townhouse and was SHOCKED to hear when I wasn't little anymore that people could actually just let their dogs out alone in a yard instead of taking the time to take them on a long walk every day...I think that helped my case a bit. Again, our awesome breeder totally got how I understand the differences with taking care of a dog in an apartment community setting..one of her references was another owner without a fenced yard.

To digress...did I also mention that Breeder Nancy is lettingus STAY HAT HER HOUSE? TWICE? Because we'll have to drive 7 hours out to Ohio to meet our puppy? She's the best

Heather I live in an apartment too, so I know what you had to go through with breeders. I had one refuse me a pup when I was looking for my first Corgi. I was a little put out, then I decided that the breeder was doing a very good job of making sure she found good homes for her dogs.

No offence to this group who live in houses, but I can tell you, I spend more time outside doing things with my dogs than most of the people who live in houses in my neighbourhood. So many dogs spend their time alone in backyards - it's sad. Like CoColt's neighbour whose dog Grizzly passed away last week - they don't really get to be part of the family.

*sheepish grins*

I already have a list going. Mostly welsh names so far... but celtic ones would be fun too!

We have a few we're considering, but we have two clear front-runnners (one for a boy, one for a girl). I have to preface this by saying that Colin is a comupter engineer, and that overall in our house we've been BIG Apple Computer nerds since long before most people knew what an iPod was. So.... for a girl we like Apple and for a boy we like Mac

We also liked Bailey for a time (for a boy), and one of my best friends is insisting we nname the dog Roger, regardless of gender....

I have a feeling there's more to the story behind Roger?
