Is your bunny dead yet? - 04-11-2007, 03:54 PM

Liam got a stuffed bunny for Easter. And of course since it is WEDNESDAY, it is already destuffed. And it's face is gone. And the little tail. AND last night the prize of all prizes, the ear came off and the little red and white dog was parading proudly with the fake fur "tongue" flapping up and down.

If we had got a stuffed bunny - I imagine it would pretty much be in the same state that Liam's is in now!!

Stuffed animals last 15 minutes tops in my house...I've learned my lesson with those!

Ditto. Owen can rip the limbs off a stuffie in under 5--but he has such a fun time doing it that I get him one every once in a while

For some reason, I thought this had something to do with pregnancy - you know, that thing about "the rabbit died." I don't even know what that comes from.

Topic:
Oh, I am with Susan, though. I have stopped buying stuffed toys - it is useless and a waste of money. Rhys & Andy currently have some, but once those are finished - no more!

Duncan destroys toys within the 5-15 minute range also. I did just buy a Tuffies toy, and so far, he has destroyed it. It has Kevlar in it's construction. I figure if it is designed to stop bullets, that stuff toy stands a chance for a least a week with him.

My husband says I shouldn't keep getting them. But, I get them at the Thrift Store for fifty cents and wash them in the washer. Liam gets so excited when he sees the animals come out of the dryer. He usually gets one every other week or so, and after the destuffing, the pelts usually last until the next one. Of coure it's messy, but he just likes it SO much.

Millie had a molar removed in January, so I thought I'd buy a few softer toys for her. One was a tougher type of stuffed toy, not a Tuffie, but it was pretty tough. It was totally destuffed and unsewn (her specialty, BEWARE naughty threads!) in one day. Then I bought her a Tuffie. It's still pristine. Not because she can't destroy it, but because she won't have anything to do with it. no interest at all. I'm thinking of rubbing some chicken fat on it.

Hmmm, maybe I'll try a tuffie. Owen just loves stuffies. He is also a master at nibbling on the loose threads until he pulls the whole thing apart.

I'm with Bayoucorgi - thrift shop finds. Annie usually plays with them for a week or so then begins the gutting with vengeance. She just has so much fun. We try to keep one intact for Joey who enjoys the "whole" toy but also likes to carry around Annie's leftover carcasses. All stuffed/gutted and chew toys are kept in "their" basket. They're like little kids nosing around in the basket to select a toy (or victim).

This is not about an Easter Toy but about a toy that he love's

It's a Gorilla with a sound box - he had a number that he enjoyed and destroyed.

Since he loved them so we got him another one for Christmas. He didn't destroy it. He'd play with it every so often let it make it's noise and move on.

Recently he took it out of his toy basket and was playing with it. We praised him for not destroying it.

We left the room and came back about 5 Minutes latter. He had torn the nose off and the stuffing was all over the place.

It was like we remined him of what to do with it.

I am SO disappointed in your post, no pics... How dare you!
