The first two are of the younger litter at 12 days old. In the first photo from left to right there is a little girl, little boy and another little girl. The last photo is of the older litter at 2 1/2 weeks old - Hattie's puppies (aka the "Manatees").

These guys are soooo cute. We're already having escapees from the pen. They're pretty active wobbling around, sometimes trying to wrestle it looks like. The older pups eyes are open and the younger ones should be soon. And they have the sweetest puppy breath.

Debbie

Those puppies are beautiful. What color do you call the spotted ones. I am not to knowledgable on cardis.

The ones that look like bleach has been spilled on them are the blue merles.

TOO CUTE

Please feel free, all, to elaborate more on the "puppy breath" experience...we are ignorant out here!

Puppy breath???? I guess the best comparison I can make is kind of like the smell of a newborn baby after a bath????? Without all the powder, but it evokes a similar emotional response. While they are nursing their breath has a distinctive smell to it which fades once they are on solid food for a time. It is still present at 8 weeks and then begins fading after that.

ahhh....like newborn baby smell! Now I get the appeal! Colin's sister just had a baby, so as a quasi-aunt I get to experience the human equivalent every few weeks

*vows to experience her little boy or girl's puppy breath at some point, hopefully, wherever that puppy comes from*

Nothing like puppy breath. My parents bred collies and I grew up covered in puppies, but I had forgotten about puppy breath until we took Owen home

Debbie:

They are so precious!!!!!

I never thought of puppies looking like Manatees (I did see it in an earlier post) but you are right!!!!

Congratulations and I hope mom and babies continue to do well.

I always said when they get to be about 8-10 weeks Pems look like old fashioned toasters with heads!

When I got Riley, my first Corgi - I knew nothing about the "puppy smell" phenomenon. Everyone at my vet's wanted to meet her as they had never had a Corgi pup as a client before. When I got there, they all asked if they could smell her - need
