Try one I think you'll be very happy with them. I've found that they are washable also. I'm very pleased with the ones I've gotten for my dogs.

Hmmm, I would get one right now but he'll eventually grow out of it.

The one I have for him currently is from Wal-Mart that has a buckle but it is adjustable and i make sure it is never too tight or too loose.

When are Corgi's typically fully grown when I can actually buy one of those? I don't want to continuously go through expensive collars in which he will outgrow lol.

The limited slip collars are adjustable. He should be able to wear it for quite awhile.

Many corgis are not mature until the age of 3 or 4, but they usually reach thier full height by 6mos. to a year old.

Usually the collar they can wear at about 6 mos. old they can wear through adulthood too.

Small to medium size dogs usually mature into adults at about 18 months and their real time puppiness fades after 12 months. Large breeds and some medium size breeds mature much later - berween 2-4 years. Corgis, as a small size breed are no different to any other small and the great majority of medium size breeds in this respect. That is not to say that any breed of dog including Corgis don't continue to change in many ways as they progress through adulthood and retain some aspects of puppiness (eg playfulness) right through to their very senior years. Of course maturity takes on two forms - mental and physical. A junior Corgi (12 months-18 months) will usually still develop physically ( not in height and length) upwards of 2 years.

It also depends on the bloodlines, at least in Cardigan Corgis. I have a very slow maturing bloodline, in some cases. I know that if I get a Cardi of this type, it won't be mature enough to really compete in the show ring until 2 and a half or three, and it is hard to be patient. However when these bloodlines routinely live to 15-17 years of age, I'll take the slow maturing.

*grin* at a recent show, someone commented to a friend of mine, Wow, I really like that red Cardi AJ is showing now. I didn't like the one she had out in January, at all. As I was showing the same red Cardi at both shows, it tells you how much a dog can change between 2 and 2 and half. Suddenly she has a chest, and looks adult where as for the last two years she's simply a gangly adolescent "tube" with legs.

But, different dogs mature at different rates, so a lot of it just takes patience.

Yes, really! They mature by putting on muscle mass, the rib cage enlarges (springs) and the chest drops. That is a mature dog.

And please call me Peggy, I sign all my posts so it's not hard to see who sent it. Taflar is my kennel name and the ID I signed up with but I am not Taflar.

Thanks,
Peggy

You're right, and IMO, those that mature slower seem to hold togther longer and don't age as fast.

Yup, same here. My Cassidy (CWC) who is now 2 1/2 has more chest and rib cage spring than she had in early spring. And the difference between Blaze's (PWC) pictures last year from his win in April and a winning photo in Sept are very easy to see.

Most corgis are not mature till age 3. Some will mature at age 2, but most don't. Very fast maturing lines might be mature a bit earlier but usually not till 2.
