Congratulations! I'll be interested in hearing how he grows up. The clear reds in Cardigans I haven't quite gotten my brain wrapped around to understanding

but one thing the Cardigan breed does offer is a lot of interesting colors.
Within AKC every activity open to a breed is open to "just pets," with the exception of conformation. Spayed/neutered dogs can be shown in junior handling tho.' So for corgis that means - obedience, rally obedience, agility, tracking and of course herding. And yes children can be the trainer/handler. I've watched juniors run their dogs in agility and one of the herding "stars" of a regional Pem club several years back was a junior handler. My recommendation would be to check with your local kennel club and/or dog training club or centers. The folks there will be in the know as to what is available in your area. AKC is not the only organization that offers performance type events. In agility there are several USDAA, NADAC, CPE. Some of the other herding breeds offer herding and will include corgis at their events - AHBA, ASCA come to mind. Then there are the 4-H opportunities.
