Smile Chip's Neutering - 06-29-2006, 06:42 AM

Thought everyone would like to know that Chip is getting neutered tomorrow. I have promised myself that I won't worry but please pray for us. I can pick him up at 4:00 right after Maybelle gets her second round of puppy shots. I have taken time off from work and with the holiday, I will be home with him for 4 days. Maybelle is doing great - no puddles on the floor for 2 days now and she is getting protective of Chip. Debbie - She will definitely be at the Corgi picnic next year.

Smile *~* Chip's Neutering... - 06-29-2006, 06:56 AM

*~* I will keep Chip in my thought & also say a little encouraging prayer for him.

Midnight & Sunshine are doing GREAT now...I am so glad that I got them BOTH spayed early. Sunshine was already in the beginning stages of her first heat cycle. Sooooooooooooooo glad that I got her spayed right away...especially !

Chip will be fine...
** GREAT that you can take 4 days off ! AWESOME !! **

We'll be thinking of Chip too. It's so much easier for boys to be neutered than the girls to be spayed. He'll just be a bit groggy from the anesthesia - but he'll be up and running in a blink. Boys are tough - it's only natural too worry. Sometimes I think what we do for them is really for us - but that's okay. He'll love having you around for 4 days - good for you.

I did the same thing, Chip's Mom. I planned Jackie's operation for the Friday before President's Day weekend, and took an extra day off to look after my little fluffball. I think Jespah is right about neutering being easier than spaying. In fact, I originally wanted a male corgi . . . for just that reason! I didn't think **I** could handle the spaying! But I made it through, and so will you! We'll be thinking of Chip (and you) this weekend!

Good Luck Chip! Make big puppy eyes at Mama and ask for lots of treats

Wish I had Chloe fixed by now - things keeps comming up and I haven't scheduled yet... now we are going on vacation and won't be back for several weeks.

Worst part is I will be out of internet range and won't be able to keep up with all our Go Corgi friends so don't think we have gone away for good - just till the end of July.

T-Gal,

We will miss hearing from you (end of July?) you will have lots to catch up
on

Chips mom,

He will be okay - Cody actually had what was called a spay/neuter because
one of his testicles did not descend, so Chip should be okay. The first night,
I slept with him downstairs because he whined a bit and must have not felt
right, but after that, he was fine - the hard part was keeping him from jumping onto the furniture for 10 days and keeping the incision dry(per vets
instructions). How do you keep a Corgis belly dry after they go out on the
morning grass with all that dew.

Let us know how it goes.

Chip has that mastered. He simply does his business on the sidewalk. He hates wet grass and rain. Thanks for all the encouragement. I will let everyone know how it goes. Chip sleeps on our bed and most nights doesn't move all night long so that should help. He still waits to be lifted on the furniture, etc. so that should be ok too. He loves to ride on the pontoon boat (he sleeps mostly) so I may try to take him out on that Sunday after church or Monday depending on how he feels. I bought him the cutest hat at Wal-Mart last night for the boat. He is adorable in it but he doesn't like it. T-Gal we will surely miss you for a whole month. You enjoy yourself and be safe.

I used onesies to keep Jackie's belly dry (man, was that a cute sight!). Something to keep in mind if you run into that problem. Good luck!

ps - the mental image of Chip on the pontoon boat in his hat is priceless. I hope you plan to post a picture of that!!!!!

Chips mom,

All will be fine - I am sure he is in good hands with your vet.
