Maybelle

I thought you all would like to know that Maybelle had her last set of shots today and she has gained 7 lbs - she now weighs 26 lbs and Chip can walk under her. She is scheduled for her spay the Thursday before Labor Day and has to stay overnight. This will be very hard on her because she is still fearful when she is out of her environment. I think she is afraid of us abandoning her. We are now going to start socializing her away from her comfort zone and hopefully that will help some.

Sadly to say that I didn't. We tried everything and asked everyone. 2 of them were real sickly and small. With this heatwave we have had, The temperature in the garage must have been 120 degrees so we opted to take them to the shelter. I felt so guilty, but I had no other option. There was just no way I could keep kittens. The horsey people in our area, didn't even want barn kittens. Also, the one little kitten had gotten on our side deck and I didn't know it and I let Maybelle and Chip out, Maybelle got her nose boxed pretty good. She was scared to death. Chip wanted to smell of this tiny creature and I was afraid for his eyes. Hopefully, they will find homes.

try local horse barns. Often they need good mousers and while they won't be indoor cats probaly, will be supplied food and water and shelter probaly in inclement weather.

Most kittens go quickly through Humane Societies, so hopefully they will find
homes - in our area, the kittens would have been put in a foster home through the humane society to socialize them better. Think good thoughts in that they will have a comfy lap to be laying on soon.
