a true must-have item....
It's called a dogetag. It fits on their collar like a charm and it can contain upt to 40 lines of information that shows up on the screen and be be scrolled through by buttons. And don't worry, it's small. So much important info can be put into this. I quickly filled up Miss Gambler's with names and phone numbers, vet info, her food info, etc... This is a great find!

I have Dillon Microchipped, and registerd with homeagain as well as with the AKC, he also wears tags that shows that he has a homeagain microchip AND he wears his rabies tag which has the vets name , address and phone number on it, and his full name on the back. And I still might look up this dog tag- I just dont want him clink clanking around too much, actually when we walk in our neighborhood, we dont use that collar with the tags, we use a martingale collar, however if we put him in the car to go anywere- especially out of state, he wears the buckle collar with all his tags. Miss Gambler's mommy, please post where you found this dog collar tag, i would be interested in seeing it.

The dogetag is small, lightweight, sturdy, and does not clank. One of the best things about it is that it will be the last dog tag you ever purchase, because if you move, or change phone numbers, you just erase old information and write in the new, takes minutes by just pushing buttons on the sides of the screen. Miss Gambler did not come microchipped and I do not believe in microchipping, don't believe that there is enough long term health info out there yet, but even if I did, you would still have to update info on that whenever you move or change phone numbers, vets etc... with this, you just quickly change it yourself. I purchased mine at Gussied Up Dog Boutique, Lincoln Avenue, San Jose, CA, and it was about $50 and well worth it, been using it for a year now, same battery.
Take care, and love your corgi! |

Missgambler: What kind of battery does it use? I checked out the web site but it doesn't say. Also, if we change the battery, does all the old information get erased?
Thanks for the help. Still pondering if we should get it. I don't like microchipping either...don't know why. |

Pretty interesting device. I will have to check it out more thoroughly when I have more time. I still think I would use the old-fasioned tags and/or microchip, in addition to the electronic tag. -Debi |

If, by chance, you don't get the battery in quick enough, (and count to thirty, it can be done easily), then you just put the information back in. I wrote down the info that I have on it, so in case I don't get the battery replaced in time, I don't have to trust my memory, I just take a few minutes to put it back in, it's simple, really. And you will never need another tag because you can always change any info. I have already had to do this three times in the past year!
