Well, the way my husband and kids seem to give him the last bite of everything they eat, I am going to have to keep a closer eye on him

Smile weight

I just picked Delilah up from the vet this am. She was spayed and her hernia fixed. He told me she is 15lbs now. Five months and a week old.

Liam was one on December 26 and he weighs 25 pounds. My friend told me he was a small corgi but he seems to be pretty similar to others his age.

Ace will be 1 in a few weeks and he last weighed in at 33 lbs! He has always been solid and I think he is starting to thin out in his waist. His dad is a solid/heavy cardi too so we're not too worried about the weight now.

Normal weight?

My pembroke corgi is 12.4 lbs at 4.5 mths now. Is this consider a good weight for a male?

Ponzo will be 1 on Feb. 5th and he just weighed in at the vets at a little over 23 pounds...He tummy is full, now if we could just get that to grow. When we had the other corgi in our house over the weekend, my husband nicknamed them Big head and Little head! Ponzo looks like a 5 month old corgi with the weight of an adult! Too cute!

We just made a quick trip to the Vet to pick up heartn worm preventative. I took the opportunity to run Tuck and Lu in and onto the scales.

Tucker weighed in at 25 on the nose. His Vet says 23-24 for him, he is on the smaller side. Gueass we will walk even more and cut back a little on food and definately on treats. He will be 2 on Feb 16th.

Lulu is 8 months old and weighed in at 22.5. She is as long as Tucker and is just starting to fill out across her shoulders. She is also not eating all her food each day.....

In normal circumstances, a Corgi not eating all their food is either of two thhings - too much, or they don't like all or some of what they are getting.
I find it very easy to take weight off a Corgi, like Susan alluded to, it is just as for humans, less food (especially fatty food) and more exercise (especially quality exercise).

Lulu I think is just trying to be finicky. I played that game w/ Tucker when he was her age and absolutely refuse to coddle her and change foods at this time.

She will miss a meal but then at the next she eats as if she is starving. Fortunately for me, they respect each other's food bowl for the most part.

I can leave Lulu's food dish down without Tucker getting into it 95% of the time. There are those rare occasions when Mr. Manipulator (aka Tucker) will sneak by her dish and like a streak of lightenong, grab a mouthful of her food then run away. He did it this morning! He is a weasel.

But I am confident the reason he is gaining weight isn't because of eating her food for her. It really is rare he gets into it.

So here's a question: we know muscle weighs more than fat.... could the extra pound be muscle? Tuck really is an active dog. We have had mad playdates 2 weekends in a row, he gets a 2 mile walk 2 times a day, Agility one night a week, and day care/play group 2 days a week.

Whenever he goes over 24 lbs (and 25 is the highest he's ever weighed in at) I try to look and see what I could have been doing. OK, last year I would give him a weekly McDonald's Hamburger. That stopped (poor guy!).

He doesn't look pudgy to me. About a year ago I noticed he was looking pudgy in the rear (don't we all????), but I can see a definate waist line with him.

Trax : 12 years old is 37.4 lbs (17kg)
Barnabas: 3 years old is 39.6 lbs. (18kg)
Both Pems.

Barnabas is 'big bone-d'. Vet said he looks good...He liked the fact that Barn2 has a waist as well....

Trax is obese. He is smaller than Barn2 and has a layer of fat rolling about his body when he lies down.

Hello--

In the middle of a major project and haven't had a chance to post in a good while. We just took Buddy to our vet for a weigh-in to determine the dosage for his next heartworm script. He weighed in at 29.3 pounds. He stands 13 inches from paw to top to shoulder and 21 inches from base of neck to top of rear. He's a healthy, active wonderful 1 year old.

Take care...

For a puppy figure one pound per week. So at 4 1/2 mos. he should be about 18 lbs. I'd say he's on the small side.

Dudley is almost 1 year now, and he weighs 32 pounds. He still looks pretty slim though, and I think he could actually stand to gain a pound or two.

Jim and Bethany...don't feel bad! Dudley is only one pound less than Ace
