Not quite true, bluies can be sold with whatever registration category a breeder chooses, however, responsible breeders would sell them on AKC (if that is the registry they are using) limited registration and on a spay/neuter contract.

In Pembrokes, a bluie is a dilute. It is an autosomal recessive, which means both parents have to carry a gene for it in order for it to show up in puppies. The coat color, eye and nose pigment appear "faded" with a bluish cast to the coat, hence the term bluie. Eye rims and nose leather can be either a dark steel blue or kind of a chocolate brown. For photos of an adult bluie (this is a red head tri girl) go to:
<http://homepage.mac.com/pdcampbell/PhotoAlbum3.html>

You'll see her compared to a normal red headed tri with similar marking patterns, as well as to a blue merle Cardigan in order to see the differences in the colorings.

PS: Ears could be coming up any time now, far too early to get in a panic over them just yet.

Here is my Spoilt's latest pic. He is a sweetie. Yes he is registered with AKC with a limitation marked for no breeding. He is doing great and his ears are on thier way up. They are actually kind of out straight to the sides right now. Like he is a bat boy getting ready for flight! LOL!!

Butter will melt in Spoilt's mouth because he is so hot. Well, sweet and cute -and I just love that white "line."

Thank you, yes he is adorable!! And those eyes! They just captivate you when you look at him. He and Rotten are just as funny as can be chasing each other around the house. We have old, painted wood floors and it sounds like a wild stampede when the two of the get to running too and fro!

Spoilt's ears are now standing straight out to the sides. He looks like a bat getting ready for take off LOL!! I can't wait for them to come fully upright.

I know a bluie is a serious fault, I found a website where the breeders are selling their bluies as RARE for $1700 or $2000 with full breeding rights under some other registry (other than the AKC) but, they were selling the littermates with full AKC for 1/2 the price... Wish I could find the stupid link now, I might be off, but I know it was an unreasonable price for a dog that should be of pet quality only (IMO that is). *Just had to say that because it seems I added my foot to my mouth on the yahoo corgi group with my opinion on aging pets and being there in the end but, that's another story. *
