Corgis and food, they go together... - 10-27-2006, 06:23 PM

I love reading about the antics of all the corgis on this site, and thought that I would add one, an incident from this past February. Miss Gambler and I were driving back from Las Vegas and made our usual stop at The Apple Shed, in Tehachappi, California. Miss Gambler is very used to this stop, and knows that she will get a freshly baked peanut butter cookie (so peanut buttery that the car reeks of rich peanut butter!), and I always get a freshly baked apple pie(the deep dish kind, with huge chunks, from fresh apples, like Grandma used to bake!) to take home. I placed this pie on top of my purse and camera bag sitting on the little space left on the seat beside Miss Gambler's big bed. Hours later, when we arrived home, I noticed that Miss Gambler did not want to walk, and looked very sleepy. My husband unloaded the car and brought in the apple pie box and told me that he knew why Miss Gambler was acting funny and he opened the box. It was empty, wiped clean, not a speck! Miss Gambler is very used to this pie also, she always gets some, but I guess she couldn't wait, and didn't want to share. Later that night, when we were in bed(and Miss Gambler sleeps with us, she has her own pillow between ours and we can't touch it!) she sat up and threw up the pie! So, to answer the question that all corgi owners have asked themselves, "Will they eat until they get sick?" The answer to that question is, "YES!"

PS Miss Gambler woke up hungry as ever the next morning, but had to wait a few weeks for another pie from The Apple Shed!

Take care, and love your corgi!

That is so funny. Your Miss Gambler sounds like she is quite the gal.
