Talking Virtual Corgi Winter Olympics - 01-06-2007, 08:03 AM

Just got finished with my broom sweeping (vacuum still in closet ) and am always amazed by the corgi hair even when they are not blowing their coats

Sooooo thought we could have some of our own Winter Corgi Olympics - everyone can think up different virtual "games" our corgi can compete in

My Game idea is Hairball Champion of the World (in a non-coat blowing season)

for one week each of us can sweep just the areas we use a broom - keep the results in a bag and at the end of the week take a picture beside their corgi. Biggest Hairball wins!

Of course there would be two divisions: 1 corgi home and 2 or more corgi home

What do you think? Shall we begin Monday and Show the results Friday?

You need another division - or we can just cheat! We are a 2 Corgi - 5 cat home - I can't sort hairs!!!! I could knit a new pet every week from the bounty found in the vacuum cleaner bag every Sunday!

Well, having a FLUFFY puts me at a definite advantage!! You are on!! (...especially since housekeeping is not my forte ...who knows what "vintage" Chloe fur I can sweep up from the corners and under the couch!!) he-he!!!

ps - we do have one shorthaired cat...but her residual fur pretty much comes pre-hairballed...

Very cute idea, but like Deb, I won't be able to sort my 3 cats hair from Codys - so the multiple categories would be good. I think my pile will be a bit small, since it seems that the majority of hair I pick up comes from the carpet. Gee, can't I just vacuum with my Dyson and lay the big clump of hair next to Cody after that

In the spirit of fairness, I won't play- my entry would be the equivalent of an athlete winning due to performance enhancing drugs on top the outcome being rigged - in short a big ringer.

Emilie,

There is no way I could compete against that pile from sweeping with a broom, although if I could use my Dyson, I would come very close

Emilie:

The expression on Dillon's face is priceless. He definitely put his nose in the air over that one. Too funny.

I'm out! My husband is so fanatical about vacuuming, Ponzo's hair never stands a chance! However, my great grandmom used say, in her broken english, that she could save herself money by stuffing the pillows she made with Grandmom's Corgi, Holly's fur.

I am adding vacuumed hair to the game why go 1/2 way when there is more corgi fuzz out there to add to the mix

With all the extra hair from the vacuum perhaps we could even add a Creative Corner for best use of corgi hair .... perhaps a corgi snowman for all of us snow deprived folks .... or a corgi afghan for the knitters... possibilities are endless

PS - Glencorgi I applaud your good sportsmanship in the sprite of the Corgi Olympics. But I really would love to see what a Professional Hairball would look like

Division 23 is for those who confine their Corgi to a small space or for those who will confine their Corgi to a small space for a week.

Deb,

I think we will need an "expert judge" here, Michael perhaps? But I would only nominate him to do this if he agrees to us packaging up our swept/vacuumed hair(CAT hair included) and ship it to New Zealand where Michael can place each fluff pile next to each other and examine the size by himself.

Now this starts tomorrow?
