Milo had a spa day.... - 01-22-2007, 06:58 PM

Milo had a spa day Saturday. He is now very fluffy and sweet smelling...hurray! He acts miserable the whole time, but I think it feels good in the end! He gets a special treat at the end of his "ordeal"...a special chewy he adores. Just wanted to share.

What cute pictures - he just did not look like himself all wet; nothing like a just bathed, fluffed up fresh smelling Corgi

You can feel and smell the difference in Milo from his pre-spa days - even from this distance.
Most Corgis I am sure, put up with the actual washing to really enjoy all the rubbing and drying and grooming.

Love Milo's wet look LOL

Emma loves having her back rubbed when Hubby gives her a bath - she will actually moan LOL and she loves being brushed... She is such a girl!

Chloe on the other hand seems to know it's her turn for a bath just by the sound of our voice - she will try and hide under the bed... she puts up with the bath and tries really hard NOT to be brushed... She is our tom-boy

I love his eyes in the first two pictures, kind of like "why are you doing this to me?" All of the pictures are great.

Milo looks so bummed out in the first photo, kind of the same look I get from Dillon when he is in the tub..The last photo is a great example of the freshly fluffed up corgi- Look at that fluffy butt! oh my goodness, i love it! Dillon is not a big fan of the bath either but once we are done and he is out of the tub and is toweled off and then gets to Frap all over the house rolling and rubbing his face on the rug, well, he is a happy boy...and I am happy becuase he smells soooo good after a bath.

I'm cracking up over Emma moaning while getting her back rubbed!

Somehow I suspect that even if my two actually did like any part of the bath process, they would never let me know! Tucker has always been a drama queen when it comes to a blow dryer. Lulu was fine with it. Suddenly she too is acting put out by the whole thing.

By the way.... I guess I have been watching a little too much HGTV. Have you seen these "farm house sinks" many people are putting in their Kitchens?

I lived to one day have a double (side by side) sink and have had them in my last 2 houses. Now with 2 dogs, what I wouldn't give to have one big single sink!

So Saturday I popped into Home Depot. They have a new side by side double sink where the divide between the two sinks is very low.

Right now I can put both Tuck and Lu (not at the same time of course) in the kitchen sink with hind legs in one sink and fron legs in the other. If I am careful, I can give them a bath w/o totally drenching my kitchen.

My dogs hate it because the divider between the two sinks is just high enough to be very uncomfortable for them. This new sink would work great!

I find it far easier to carefully wash them in the sink and not drench the kitchen than to wrestle with them in the bathtub!

Hmmmm .... if only the labor to put one in didn't cost more than the sink itself!!!!!!

I have seen those too, and yes the labor to install the sink is often more than the sink is. Dillon struggles so much in our sink ( I tried washing them there once) that the whole kitchen ends up soaked. I have a garden tub so he can jump all he wants but cant get out of it on his own...once he is in, i step in and can scrub him good. In a regular bath tub he would be harder, as he would be trying to jump out all the time.

Sounds like it's time to take that Plumbing correspondence course, Susan!

Jackie is (to say the least) not a fan of the bath. Like Chloe, she also seems to know when it is bath time. Any other time, she is more than willing to go into the bathroom. But she must hear something in our voices that suggests bath, and she freezes up. She doesn't hide, thank goodness, or fight in any way. She just puts on her WOE IS ME act for all it's worth. The dryer doesn't bother her much. I'm sure it's not her favorite thing in the world, but it ranks slightly higher than the bath itself.

I agree with those who say there is nothing like a freshly bathed corgi. After a bath, I can't keep my hands off her - she is SOOOOO soft and fluffy!

I have two shampoos. One I have stopped using (just like the smell of the other!) is Buddy Wash made by Cloudstar. Somewhere along the way I got a small bottle of Buddy Rinse, a conditioner. For the first time I bathed them w/ the buddy wash, followed with the Buddy Rinse. They have never been softer!!!! Unbelievable. I hate that it involves two rinsings (never do that in the sink!!!!) but just unbelievably soft.
