taking to the groomers

My other two dogs I take to the groomers because they hate baths and I only have so much energy. I also am terrified to do nails. When should I start taking my puppy as well? I don't want to expose him to anything to young but don't want to spring it on him either. Any advise?

Corgi pups over eight weeks are no different to when they are bathed to that of an older aged Corgi. I say as a rule, bath monthly or even once every three weeks. So if you are not going to do it yourself, then I'm sure your fellow will cope well with a professional and vice versa. A pro groomer is use to handling all kinds of dogs of all kinds of ages. Hopefully, the groomer will be using good quality shampoo.

IF you have been using your groomer for a good while and have a good client relationship with him/her, ask for their recommendation as to when to bring him in. Really, at his age you should be able to bathe him fairly easily yourself. Nails, as long as he doesn't have any black ones , you should also be able to do yourself and even if you don't do them, get him used to at least having his feet handled and messed with. That just makes it so much easier on vets and groomers. You might want to consider getting a dremel and using it to do the nails.

I have been bathing him on my own. He has the white nails so I may try with help the first few times from my sister. She has a dremel and I will take it from there. My dogs are like my kids as many are on this site so I worry about favoring one over another. I worry about taking one for a ride and not the other and I don;t want to drop off the older girls and not Pockets and have any of them think they are being punished. I know silly on my part but it is what it is!
