I think some dogs have quirks about what they allow being done to them just
like us people do. For instance, I have a cat that allows me to brush his teeth - the others, no way. Corgimum, You pay $16.00 for clipping of one dogs nails? Did I understand that right? It is $9.00 here. Linda Last edited by corgimom; 07-27-2006 at 08:08 PM. |

Chloe Louise and others - once your Corgi gets onto pavements and other sealed ground areas eg concrete driveways, yards etc, their nails will be quite nicely trimmed with the concerted walking/running over the surfaces. So there will be no need to clip their nails. Apart from preparing for conformation shows, I have never had to clip the nails of any of my Corgis.

You are lucky Michael, and all things being equal, that's the way it should be.
Montrose has a genetic thing, two of her front nails (and a friend's dog from the same bloodline) grow much faster than the others. They have always needed clipping. Her back nails, hardly ever, until now with her back/leg problems and she can not longer go for walks on hard surfaces. Dylan, he really only needs his back nails done. Monty, she really only needs her front nails done. Should I ask for a 1/2 & 1/2 dog discount?

Lets just say that you have it both ways.
can't say I have noticed any differentation between my Corgs nails to warrant one been clipped and not the others. It must be the side of the world you are on - lop-sided! |

Barbara,
same here with me. Although Cody's nails stay nicely trimmed from walking on cement, I have noticed that a couple in particular seem to be longer than the others. When I took him in to the vet about 6 weeks ago for his stomach ailment, I had mentioned that as long as I was there, they could trim any nails that needed it; they only needed to trim a few of his nails.
